SEATTLE -- Forward Vladimir Radmanovic will not ask to be traded and will block any proposed deals Seattle tries to make, he says.

Before Monday night's game against the Washington Wizards, Radmanovic said he wants to play out the season with the SuperSonics and then become a free agent. Radmanovic turned down a reported six-year, $42 million deal with Seattle before the season and instead signed a one-year agreement.

"I came to that decision a long time ago," Radmanovic said. "I thought the situation was going to be a little different here, but you've got to make the best out of it."

In Monday's edition of The News Tribune of Tacoma, Radmanovic's agent, David Bauman, said that the fifth-year forward would not ask for, or accept a trade because it would not be to Radmanovic's financial benefit.

Bauman said that under the new collective bargaining agreement, if Radmanovic is traded, the team he is dealt to could only offer him a contract up to the mid-level exception, estimated to be about $5 million next year.

By remaining with Seattle and becoming an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season, Radmanovic could make more on the open market.

Calls to Bauman on Monday were not returned.

"I don't talk to my agent that much. I just try and focus on my game," Radmanovic said.

Radmanovic's unhappiness with the Sonics appeared to reach a head just three games into the season. After a 94-69 loss at Memphis, Radmanovic told reporters that he didn't want to talk to coach Bob Weiss and demanded more playing time.

After that, Radmanovic's playing time gradually increased, and he played a season-high 41 minutes on Thanksgiving night at the Lakers. Two weeks ago, he scored a season-high 23 points against the New York Knicks.

From there, his playing time and production decreased. Weiss did not play Radmanovic in last Friday's win at Portland, the first time that has happened since his rookie season of 2001.

Radmanovic did not want to comment, but Weiss said finding a spot in the rotation for Radmanovic has been difficult.

"Until we hit our stride, our rotations are going to jump a little bit," Weiss said.

Radmanovic is averaging 9.3 points in 22 minutes, down from 11.8 points in nearly 30 minutes per game last year.

"Whenever coach gives me the opportunity, I'm ready to play," Radmanovic said.

This guy is just such a tool.

At this point I am entirely in favor of the owners colluding just to not offer him a contract next year and send him packing to the Ethiopian Leagues where I've heard they have a soft spot for people with wildly inflated delusions of self-worth.
