To think that the Maloof's don't have any money in the bank borders on total ignorance.
I don't really think so. It's perfectly possible to have $1B in assets and be bankrupt, and Joe and Gavin don't have $1B anyway, they have a pretty small portion of that. That's undoubtedly why their mom & siblings are involved in decisions like which coach to hire.
Joe and Gavin have 53% of the Kings, they have the Monarchs and The Palms. It's doubtful, in this financial climate, whether ANY of those investments are making money. They may be getting pretty deep in debt, and just hoping that things turn around before it's too late.
Just because the whole family was worth $1B nine years ago, I don't think we can really conclude anything about whether Joe and Gavin are financially sound or not. They may well be doing the large-scale equivalent of using their credit cards to keep current on their credit card payments.
