This is very sad news. I've lived in the Placerville/Camino area my entire life, and the mill was one of those things that defined the community. The closure at Camino will put 164 folks out of work and the closure in Sonora will lay off 146. I don't see a very bright future for Camino at this point, short of it being a bedroom community (see: soulless) to Sacramento. I'm probably the only here who cares, but I needed to vent.
