Well it wasn’t with Grizzlies losing. But now it’s pretty much a moot point and we should rest up. Fox specifically looks like he needs the rest. His jump shot has been pretty terrible

Tough loss. We didn't play horribly. Kyrie Irving just hit a bunch of undefendable shots when it counted. Could have had a better third quarter. We'll get em next time.

In other news, I actually liked what I saw from our Kings in that 4th. Kyrie went nuclear and the Kings missed waay too many. But there was a lot to like there, the loss notwithstanding.

The refs did their thing again but this is a good lesson in this one. If a team is willing to submit and give it to you, take it, don't rub it in. Not unless you are in that dominance tier and this team most certainly is not. 60 win territory minimum on that one. While this is a total rarity and while Fox has more than earned some leeway, tonight he Fox'd around and found out. Playoffs await and knowing the Kings history so do the refs so prep up.

Would’ve been fun to knock out Dallas. No biggie. Took a superhuman effort from Kyrie, Mavs were desperate, Good playoff warmup, for last two games let the guys rest up a bit and settle in for round 1
This was a winnable but they lost control - Brown needed a timeout earlier in the 3rd.

So basically we would have to win the next 2 to get to 2 and Memphis would have to lose the next 2.
Wonder what the Kings do.
I'm not trippin about this loss, it was a back to back, Mavericks were fighting for their organization basically, and Kyrie was going superstar mode.
You can't double him, not with Luka on that team, you just do your best make it hard for him and hope he misses, which he didn't.
That's what it took for them to win, I don't think there was something obvious the Kings messed up at

Amen. As much as the bagley pick will forever be a mistake of epic proportions, I’m not sure how much fun I would be having trying to root for that guy.

Also, they didn’t ride the hot hand. They actually tried to ride the cold hand. Dallas didn’t send the Calvary to take Keegan out of the game: Kings just stopped getting him the ball.
Kings built their lead on his offensive explosion in the second quarter. Don’t think he touched the ball in the second half unless he rebounded it.
The result win-loss isn’t relevant. Im fine with 3. Don’t like to see the Kings blowing whole 13 point leads within 2 minutes though.

Yeah, would Silver and NBA rather have Luka and Kyrie in the play in or OKC? I think it’s obvious.
Honestly, I'm encouraged. The effort was there, the defense was there. Everyone was active. 22 O-boards, outboard the Mavs by 18 overall. Mavs missed a lot of good shots. If that defensive effort is a constant in the playoff, Kings will be a very tough out.

While the potential is there, the numbers are pretty much in. 25th-26th in defensive net rating, 28th in EFG% against. Those don't lie, won't lie, haven't lied all year. That said, great offense >>> great defense all day though. I brought it up before, the Hawks are the way, they made it to the eastern finals being all offense in this modern game so it's a much better way to go if it has to be that way haha.

The addition of Kessler Edwards and Alex Len are a huge boost to the defense imo, I think we won't be too bad

Actively tanking? Lol. That was a desperate team in the 2nd half. Yeah, the Mavs have struggled but when the whispers before this game started about Mavs shutting down Luka and Kyrie and those guys were like “nuh uh” you had to know they were wanting this win. The first half is more indicative of this team. We wore down in the 2nd half and took the foot off the gas a bit.
Take a deep breath my man, we might lose the first round, but this team isn’t getting run off the floor.
