Perhaps Sacramento fans would prefer the Kings trash their squad, go 19-63, get one of the first two or three picks and start from there. However, I don't think that's the case.
Wow... it's unusual for Marty to be dead wrong in such a clear and explicit fashion. Sounds like he's pretty out of touch. What's with that?

I don't think Marty is dead wrong...
Was it reported here or anywhere why MartyMac left or got booted from Sacramento Kings beat? Good riddance as far as I'm concerned. Over the years I saw him sitting court side with his NYYankees hat and in "Kings rap sessions" with the KHTK crew doing so much useless shuck and jive about "his" NY sports teams. The same way Grant Napear goes on and on and on about "his" NY Giants and "his" Yankees. I HATE this New York homer attitude and resulting east coast bias constantly rubbed in "our" west coast/Sacramento face. A passing mention once in awhile is fine, but I'm fed up with the constant drum beat that screams - GO GIANTS! YIPPEE YANKEES! Since Marty's apparently marginalized, the next to go should be Napear!
He's dead wrong when he says that he doesn't think that "Sacramento fans" would want the team blown up. Many wouldn't, but a significant number would be happy to light the fuse personally. If there weren't serious division on the subject, this site would take up a lot less disk space.

It's been about a month since I went on this rant
http://www.kingsfans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=25181
where I said that there was no point in winning or losing, because we had a death grip on the #11 slot, + or - 1. A month later, Portland has imploded, Houston's season is doomed, and still, nothing has changed. So it's not like I'm saying this because I'm a hardcore tanker, I'm the first to say so when there's no point in doing it.
But to treat it like "everybody likes vanilla" is beyond silly.

I think we're possibly saying the same thing but from different sides.
So I doubt that Marty will change his tune, regardless of what fans might think. Not that we'll have a chance to discuss it with him. What's up (fnordius)? Thanks for the e-mail hit... I think we just see things differently... You'd rather have watched them lose to the Clippers last year so you could have gotten Yi instead of Hawes? I don't believe in that way of doing things... Too many things can happen if you rely on that type of stuff. I believe in trying to win every game you play and let the chips fall as they may.
