I would like to thank Ailene Voisin for her column about Ron Artest in Wednesday's Bee ("Artest right to focus on health, daughter instead of last games"). I agree with Ailene about putting his playing time in perspective with his family priorities. As a kindergarten teacher and parent of a grown daughter, I am heartbroken by the idea of a 4-year-old battling cancer. I can't even imagine what he is going through, but I know if it were my child, I would not be in a stable frame of mind. I wish people would think about how it would feel to be in his situation before they criticize his effort regarding basketball.
