Assumeing Mike Bibby opts-out:

Mike Bibby for Chauncey Billups & McDyess

i personally like this deal very much. :)

If Mike Bibby opts out, we can't do a thing with him. And while you might like the deal, I don't see Detroit going for it.

Reality has to enter into these kinds of things at some point.

Well, they might if they think they can't resign Billups.

we get a servicable big-man and a PG who's just as clutch as Mike Bibby. not sure if neither one will call the deal off but its interesting.

Yeah, and a fleet of battleships from the 1800s might fly over my house tomorrow...

Why wouldn't Chauncey resign with Detroit? He has every reason to consider it, especially considering he has a ring with them, he's very highly thought of, etc. The Pistons might agree to this in your video games, but not in real life.

The same reason Ben Wallace left.... alot of Piston fans have bought up the idea of blowing up the team and trading Billups. now if thats what they think then there not confident that Billups will reup a contract with them.

Last time I checked, "a lot of Pistons fans" weren't running the team.

But they should atleast feel confident on the Management. i know they have no business making the decisions but they don't think Billups will resign with them which will cause/force the Management to blow up the team and start from scratch.

We're kinda screwed if Bibby opts out.

Petrie has to move him prior to the deadline or enjoy the cap room and build upon that if Bibby pulled out that card.

We can also talk to him, get him to pass on the ETO and sign him to a nice extension. I don't think trading him is the most popular option for the Kings OR for Mike.

??????????

Who are these mythical Detroit fans of whom you speak? And even if they did get rid of Billups, they wouldn't necessarily be blowing up the team and starting from scratch.

i don't get this. how is billups and mcdyess for bibby in any way a positive for detroit? if they can't resign billups, they're gonna trade him in a fire sale for a comparable guard AND throw in a serviceable big man? that's just nuts.

RealGM is one place that has been thought of blowing up the team by Piston Fans.

I'm not sure if its good for either one it's gonna come down to Finanical reasons and if the Kings will pay the amount that gains Bibbys interest to stay. the Kings can very well trade Bibby for a PF we lack.

isn't that largely irrelevant? fans can talk until they are blue in the face, but it doesn't mean something will go down. for instance...we thought we'd resign bonzi. even now fans want us to go over the tax limit for him.

Agreed. This trade doesn't make sense in any way you look at it. Pistons wouldn't part with Billups to begin with, so why even mention this trade...

Anybody who considers RealGM message boards to be a credible source of knowledge should re-evaluate their definition of "credible."

Billups isn't going anywhere and if by some chance he wants out, they are going to want a lot more than just Bibby.
