Rumor: Hornets Trade For Gordon, A. Griffith

Wow. The west deffinatley got stronger if this is true. But getting Wright will deffinately help out the Bulls future. Wow. More and More huge trades. I hope we're next.

Do you have a source?

I doubt this is even true if it was just posted on some message board. Its nowhere else.

This is where the rumor apparently originated:

Supposedly there are a couple of insiders that post there occasionally and often have scoops on trades for the Hornets, but this guy isn't one of them. He claims to have gotten a call from a co-worker that said that was the trade, but doesn't even say anything about how the co-worker would have gotten the info.

Sounds like one of those friend-of-a-friend-of-a-friend type of deals, and probably is BS.

Who in the heck is A. Griffith?

I'm sure this rumor is legit, as it involves players who don't exist.

This picture is on his player page:

If true, then like many other West teams, the Hornets are going for the big bucks by purging most of the young talent on their roster (Armstrong, Wright, future 1st) for an established scorer (Gordon) to give themselves a lethal starting 5 (Paul, Gordon, Stojakovic, West, Chandler). Yikes. Mo Pete now off the bench for a bonafide sixth man as well, along with gunner guards Pargo and Jackson. Solid 8-man rotation there. And of course, now add into the mix two perimeter defensive specialists--Adrian Griffin and Ryan Bowen--as well.
