RonBill + ? = Iguodola + ? or Josh Smith + ?

First off, I don't do trade checker.

Second, with all the advance discussion of RonBill for Odom, we can all go ahead and cross this potential deal off the list. AIN"T GONNA HAPPEN.

Mitch Kupchak is gonna come to the arrogant misconclusion he's already architected a NBA championship team and Andrew Bynum was the missing piece last year, and let's wait 'til the trade deadline and maybe we can revisit RonBill, and let's not get all hasty and bold and pull any triggers.

What I do know is Geoff Petrie is going to explore the possiblity of bringing in true difference makers to the Kings.

Andre Iguodola and Josh Smith, two restricted free agents with dwindling options, are those guys. I don't know the pieces and I don't know the particulars, but if a trade goes down I'd be less surprised to see us get one of these guys than I would Odom. That's just how Geoff Petrie rolls.

If anyone can work out the specifics on such a deal, maybe a 3-way where Artest ends up in Dallas or LA, I'd like to hear it.

i see where he is coming from. If we are going to trade Artest we might as well get someone we really want. If we ship the right pieces with artest (Miller,Salmons,Garcia, 1st rnd, or a combination of these) we might have a chance at picking up Iggy or maby even Josh Smith. You dont know how much i'd love Smith on our team.

if the sixers are in win now mode we could try a different trade with both teams...

kings trade
miller

kings receive
josh smith (s&t)/ zaza

sixers trade
dalembert

sixers receive
miller

hawks trade
smith/zaza

hawks receive
dalembert

dalembert is the bigman that the hawks are looking for and can finally slide horford to pf where he belongs... philly just signed brand and miller would be a better fit at center than dalembert if they think that they can compete now. kings get smith.... yay.... but the hawks would be a good team...

bibby
johnson
williams
horford
dalembert

this way we can still trade artest to make the team even better....

Miller/Artest for a SnT of Josh Smith makes a lot of sense for both sides...Kings get a young PF to go with Hawes who fits our up-tempo style we're trying to bring about...the Hawks balance their roster with a nice blend of youth and vets.

C - Brad
PF: Horford
SF: Williams
SG: JJ
PG: Bibby

That roster is as good as any in the East.

Yeah, because Bibby/Artest/Brad worked out so well for the Kings.

Any deal that gets us Josh Smith for Artest is an absolute coup on our part.
Just have a look at his NBA.com career stats page: http://www.nba.com/playerfile/josh_smith/career_stats.html
(or to summarize)
Last season he averaged 17.2 points, 8.2 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 2.8(!) blocks, next to Al Horford. Not to mention he posted a 38 point game, a 22 rebound game, and 9 block game. And oh yeah, he's 22 years old.

I guess what I'm saying is, as pipe dreams go, it's a very good one. However, outside of NBA Live, I can't see the Kings getting this lucky. We'd likely have to include Martin in any deal to make it work, and I don't think any of us want that. But hey, if Geoff can get it done...that'd be awesome, and we'd be a lot further in our rebuild.

So Artest would be coming off the bench? And how much would Smith be making? Because the salaries don't seem to match up unless you ridiculously overpay him

No. he means either Miller or Artest in a sign and trade. How much do you think Smith is worth? I believe if he produces like he can, probably about Kevin Martin money. But of course he'll probably get 14 mil a year or something ludicrous like that.

So let me get this straight. The Hawks, that finally showed some promise for the first time since they moved from St Louis, are going to trade one of they're best young players, for either a 31 year old center, or a nut case all star. And why again, do they do this? Please don't say because Smith is a restricted free agent, because unless they've lost all reasonable intelligence, they'll match any offer for him.

From the Kings point of view, sure, I would love to have him, but we did just draft Thompson with the idea, that he's our future at PF. I don't believe there's any way in the world that Atlanta would make this deal.

thats why my trade idea included the sixers... that way they get dalembert instead of miller...

I will admit it makes more sense, but, if I'm Atlanta, I would still rather have Howard over Dalembert. Howard is just a more skilled player. I won't deny Atlanta's need for a center, but I think they would be better off going for a short term fix through free agency or a lesser trade ( aka Mikki Moore ) than to forfeit any part of a nice young core. There doesn't have to be a rush to the future for them at this point. All they have to do is continue to build the team.

Hey, don't get me wrong here. I would love to see this trade happen. I would love to have Howard on our team. I'll be stunned if it does though, and Petrie will certainly be a genius for pulling it off.
