Sorry but I can't cut and paste the link to the original article (Didn't Work)

Note: I corrected your link to reflect the site of origin, which was the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. :) - VF21

Just heard that the blow from Ron Artest in last night's Kings/Sonics pre-season game broke Luke Ridour's nose. He'll be day to day to play, and will have to wear a mask for a while. Funny thing was, there wasn't even a foul called on the play.

Edited to add article info:

Ridnour to become masked man for Sonics

Sonics guard Luke Ridnour suffered a broken nose in the team's first quarter of preseason action and will have to wear a protective mask for the next 4-5 weeks, the team learned Wednesday.

Ridnour took an elbow from Ron Artest early in Tuesday's 104-98 loss at Sacramento and was ushered off the floor. Tests revealed a non-displaced fracture of his nasal bone, according to a team spokesman.

The fifth-year Sonics point guard will be a game-time decision when it comes to Seattle's next exhibition effort Friday in Cleveland.

"I doubt he's going to play," said coach P.J. Carlesimo.

Ridnour missed practice Wednesday while undergoing tests on both his eyes and nose. An ophthalmologist visit revealed no damage to his vision.

The Sonics open regular-season action in three weeks, meaning Ridnour will be in a mask for the first several weeks of league play.

Yup is was tough situation and I knosw some Seatle fans were pissed at the no call, but it was clearly unintentioal contact. Ron reached out as Luke ran by and Luke prety much ran into Ron's elbow. But it was obvious from the blood and Luke not returning that ther was some prety serious damage. Hope he gets back out right away.

How can an elbow be a nose foul?!

;)

Delonte West has been threatening to take his starting job in the first place. This doesn't help. Sucks to be Luke Ridnour.

Sucks to be the Sonics -- last year they lost Robert Swift for the season after playing uis in the poreseason, and look what he came back looking like!

Now this year its Ridnour. They should have kept Fortson to sic on us. ;)

Sonics guard Luke Ridnour was fitted for a mask this afternoon after learning he has a non-displaced fracture of the nasal bone, according to a team spokesman. He'll have to wear the mask for four to five weeks and is listed as a game-time decision for the back-to-back road trip in Cleveland and Indiana this week.

But coach P.J. Carlesimo wasn't even sure Ridnour would travel, not knowing the full extent of the point guard's injury at the time of the comment.

Ridnour suffered the injury in the opening quarter of the loss to Sacramento on Tuesday, taking an inadvertent blow from Kings defensive specialist Ron Artest. Onlookers described the aftershock as Ridnour appearing as if he took a hit from Mike Tyson, wobbling around before a gush of blood rushed from both nostrils as the Sonics called a timeout to get him off the court.

Carlesimo said he plans to start an entirely different five at Cleveland than he did at Sacramento. He said the starters for the second half of the Cleveland game would be different from the opening half, too. Still, the Sonics need to see Ridnour play, and run different combinations with him in the lineup.

For real?

It didn't show any of that. It just showed Ridnour and trainer, with a towel held up to his face, as they left the court. And then it showed the clean-up guy pushing a towel along the court to get rid of about a dozen drops of blood.

Yea I don't remember seeing any of that. He just walked off with the trainer and there was a towel to stop the blood from going everywhere. What's written in that article is a huge exxaggeration. If blood "rushed" from his nostrils there wouldn't have been 12 little drops of blood on the floor, there would've been more.
