Yup. He was a Walton hire. Mike Brown hired someone else to fill his position.

I actually think Hines chose to leave as the Kings supposedly requested Brown retain him. Doesn't seem like they are shy about hiring anyone Brown wants as an assistant. Golden State supposedly had 40+ assistants. I think the only limit is how many can sit on the bench.
