Well, a mod can move this since it might be in the wrong thread but Steve kerr is thiking that Ra should win Coach of the Year. I think this is a good idea because Ra is dealing with all sorts of injuries yet we are 17 games above .500. Here is the link: http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylc=X3oDMTBqam1ocWIyBF9TAzk1ODYxOTQ4BHNlYwNlY2w-?slug=sk-rankings020105&prov=yhoo&type=lgns

Check it out! Steve doesn't like to talk about the Kings on TNT, but he like writing about us.........;)
Even though I agree in theory with the possibilty of this statement, when I saw the title... I was gonna say, " BBall are you frickin crazy starting this thread ?? Your gonna take so much abuse!" ...But if such an unlikely ally as Steve Kerr is noticing RA's coaching I think people will have a hard time calling it Adelman Homerism. The only problem I really have with this whole thing is that Steve Kerr is a moron... So I guess RA isn't as good of a coach as I thought...

Well he must be coach of the year if he can take the 10th best team in the West and have them in championship contention right? ;)

In any case, Rick is never going to win that award. Its like "Webber chokes" or "Peja doesn't play defense", once an idea gets ingrained in the popular conscience, its almost impossible to change it no matter the evidence. So Rick will continue to win big, and it will continue to be because of everyone but him, and if he coaches another 5 years or so I'm sure there will be a columnist there to make fun of him as he passes Red Auerbach for career victories.

I would think it would be really hard, if the coach of the year is selected pre-playoffs, to discount Nate McMillian of Seattle.

Unfortunately, Adelman will continue to be overshadowed as he has been every year he's been with the Kings. I think it's partly because of his position as a coach of a team in a small market. Greg Popovich also doesnt get as much fanfare as he maybe should get while he's in San Antonio. Those two are simply expected to take their teams to big seasons every year. Although, I'd like to think this year is an exception for the Kings who many picked to be in the lower tier of playoff teams. But it's location, location, location in this league. Scott Skiles of Chicago, Mike D'Antoni of Phoenix, and even Nate McMillan of Seattle are all favorites to win this year and I don't mean to take anything away from them (if the Baby Bulls make the playoffs this year, Skiles is definitely the most deserving of the three listed). I just find the neglect of the Kings frustrating and unfair to the players and coaches.

That's funny how he said about the Warriors: The Warriors are the "Atlanta of the West."
And the Hawks: The Hawks are the "Golden State of the East."
:D

Were only half-way thru the season and were talking coach of the year? How about waiting until playoffs? :\

The halfway point of the season is traditionally a good time for people to evaluate everything that's gone on in the league so far. Why wouldn't people talk about it? A few years ago, people all around the league were talking about Chris Webber being the MVP of the first half, and I don't remember anyone complaining about that.

Kerr picked us to finish 10th in the West this year. Adelman didn't let him forget it when Kerr came to town for a TNT game... I think Steve is just making it up to Rick. ;)

Although he _should_ be in the running for the award!

Do you mean literally? He really talked to him about that? I don't remember anything like that. Forget what I said if you were just talking about winning a game on TNT.
