Richard Jefferson Next?

6'9" small forward with length to be amnestied by Spurs.
Very good spot up 3 pt shooter, can cut to rim, and is low usage.
Can guard the bigger small forwards for Salmons.
Estimated contract is about the same as remaining floor space.

Also consider the Kings interest in RJ at draft time, which included his 10 million dollar a year contract.

Evans / Fredette / Thomas
Thornton / Garcia / Honeycutt
Salmons / Jefferson / Greene
Hickson / Hayes
Cousins / Thompson / Whiteside

Defensive lineup could include Evans, Salmons, Jefferson, and Hayes.

Jefferson and Hayes are very low usage too!

I could dig it. We would have 3 deadly 3 shooters in RJ, Fredette, and Thornton. If we can get him at 5-6 mil/season I think we definitely should.

I thought he's was only 6'7", so not much bigger than Salmons.

It's actually really weird. Looking at some of the NBA profile sites, it says 6'7. When you look at his actual measurements (on Draftexpress), he is listed at 6'8.5 with shoes (which is most often rounded up). For nearly every player, their NBA "height" is actually their height with shoes, which makes me wonder why RJ isn't listed at 6'9.

Because players cheat at the combine and wear inserts in their shoes. How many players actually gain 1.25 inches when they put shoes on? Should be about 3/4 difference.

I know, but ALL the players do that and every other player's listed height is with that added 1.25-1.75 inches. RJ's height is not only less than what he would have with shoes without inserts, but less than his height without shoes on.

I didn't pay attention to Richard Jefferson last year. How is he doing as a defender these days?
