The Kings return to Arco on Thursday, after defeating the Lakers in Staples in the best game of the year so far. I'm hoping the fans at the game will reward the team for their heart and hustle by supporting them in this game. Seeing more of the "kids" would be great; and watching as Hawes continues to show just why Petrie picked him would be a priority.
I don't care if the team reaches the elusive .500 mark. I just want to see them playing as though they really want to be out there. It's about working with the crowd in a symbiotic relationship to secure the future. If the players show their commitment to the game, the fans will respond the way they always have. It really is just that simple. And the final score won't be anywhere near as important as the effort and focus shown during the 48 minutes.
All most of us ask is that they try. Let the players with something to play for have the majority of minutes and then let them show their stuff. We really don't have anything to lose at this point - but pride. If the guys on the court play with teamwork and pride, the fans will give them the energy and encouragement they need.
