Reggie Miller's still got it

What an unbelievably clutch 4th qtr player over the years. He's still knocking down the 3's. Lakers down by 5 with 59 sec to go.

Go Pacers! They are playing with confidence, even without Jermaine and Tinsley. They lead the Lakers by 6 with 29.7 left to go.

Reggie's season avg is 13.1, but he has 35 pts against the Lakers. I think he is going to the line again, and can add to it.

Reggie says, "I've been here 18 years and somebody's got to step up with Ron, Jermaine, and Jamaal out. I am just trying to help get us to the playoffs."

Well, he did that with 39 pts (a season high) to beat the Lakers. He couldn't have done it against a better team. :p

Odom got injured in that game....can you serioulsy believe all these injuries...UNBELIEVEABLE...its a strained shoulder they're calling it...he's out indefinetly...

Looks like Jermaine O'Neal and Odom can hang out together and talk about their exact same injury and so can Brad Miller and Vlad Radmonvic for that matter

some many injuries this season...i don't remember there being so many in an NBA season since ive been a NBA fan

reggie is something else.... if peja had his mentality we would have some rings to brag about....

And that just about sinks any hope of a Laker apearance in the play offs... for tohse who thought I was nuts predicting they might not make it Iwill be serving up crow sandwitchs at your leaisure.

PS Thank You Boston!

Yup Reggie is one of my all time favorite players. Of course being from IN doesn't hurt that cause any.

I would think all these comparisons for Peja, he should try to emulate Reggie's game the most. The comparisons to Larry Bird are just as dumb as comparing all the other players to MJ. But I think with work Peja could achieve Reggie Miller type play.

No one was under the assumption that Kobe would miss 14 games and Hamblen would be their head coach for more than half the year. Additionally, Hamblen is forced to teach the triangle mid-season to this young group in preparation for the possible return of Jackson. Now Odom's out indefinitely and Kobe's got ankle problems again. In the absence of that stuff, I definitely think they make it into the playoffs. I shall eat none of your crow! Extenuating circumstances such as those could be season-killers for a number of teams.

Besides, they've been out of the playoffs for at least a few weeks now, realistically speaking. Now...on to Shelden Williams or Roko Ukic!

Nice way to avoid the reality that a Kobe-centric team will NEVER go anywhere, welcom to Toronto South or Philly West if you prefer. Wont change untill Kobe is gone or realizes he can NOT win alone.

No one ever claimed that the Lakers would go anywhere deep with this lineup. That's an entirely different topic and I'll be the first to admit that the team surrounding Kobe is unbalanced and extremely weak at 1 and 4. Kupchak needs to draft well and he needs to come thru in dumping those ending contracts in ways that address deficits. I know this much is true. Kobe-centric has nothing to do with it. You'd be foolish to claim that he can't win with a good team around him...he's proven that he can.

The original claim was whether or not they'd make the playoffs with the squad as assembled at the start of the season.

Lakers can't go anywhere with this lineup, has nothing to do with Kobe. The one and only problem the Lakers are having is their defense. They're something like 26-5 when they hold teams under 100 points.

I like his swagger. I like his attitude. I love how he looks like a ferengi and nobody cares :) I know that of all the people in the NBA, if I could play like 1 player it would be Reggie Miller. He is clutch. He actually bothered MJ. I love who he knocked off in his career (mainly Knicks). I love his dedication, and his emotion.

He is ALWAYS there. He always hits that shot.

I am still waiting for him to make a guest apperence on Star Trek :)

why? were you a knicks fan before you became a lakers fan? you still mad?

so i take it you hate kobe too?

Nope. Kobe is not a waifish trashtalking punk.

PS: Most non-Laker fans detest Kobe for showing less attitude on the floor than Miller. After he hit that game-winner at Charlotte, a fan here was disgusted by his arrogance (apparently from the way he looked while shooting or maybe because he actually hit it, I don't know). Kobe doesn't do much more after good plays or big shots than Bibby.

You like Reggie. I hate him. Cookie crumbles.
