The Kings' trading block (in alphabetical order):
Chuck Hayes
Donte Greene
Francisco Garcia
John Salmons
JJ Hickson
Travis Outlaw
Please rank these six players from most perceived valued to least, based on whatever criteria you see fit. My ranking is below. Note: Since all of these players are not really primary contributors, their contract situations played a pretty big role in my rankings.
1. JJ Hickson: Expiring contract. A young big man with potential, who may just need a change of scenery and a dominant star to compliment his game.
2. Donte Greene: Expring contract. A young swingman with potential, but lower ceiling than Hickson. Probably only a valued role player at best. Surrounding him with the right personnel may improve his approach some.
3. Chuck Hayes: Veteran "big" with leadership skills, but recently signed to longterm contract. Has played below expectations with the Kings, but reputation as a hard worker around the league may help his value.
4. Francisco Garcia: Vetaran swingman with good leadership skills, but owed a good deal of money next year. Team option the year after, so contract situation is not toxic or a longterm albatross. Has improved of late, but probably no more than a 4th guard for a good team.
5. Travis Outlaw: Veteran swingman with longterm contract, although at relatively low cost per year. Nonetheless, the duration of his contract and consistently poor play ranks him lower on the list.
6. John Salmons: Veteran swingman who has improved considerably of late, but contract leaves much to be desired, as it is the highest on the Kings. I believe he is owed 2 more years and that the third is a team option.
