Raja Bell got death threats from laker fans.

how embarrasing for lakers fans.....

people shouldn't be taking sports THAT seriously
Agreed... but that line of thought also applies to the nutjob that tried to poison Kobe Bryant four years ago; that was just as embarrassing.

What are you basing this on? IE: that someone intentionally tainted his food. Did someone admit to it since then or is it your hunch that it really did happen?

It's a hunch. But, it's a hunch that is, in my opinion, based on common sense.

If that's true, I'd hate to think of what happened to that burger / cheesecake.

It's not a given though that there was something malicious behind it. I had a short bout of food poisoning back in 99 that came out of nowhere. Wasn't fun to say the least, but it went away as quickly as it started. Started feeling a slight queasy feeling at work, but not sick. I ate a bowl of spaghetti after work, felt fine. Then I took a nap and woke up running down the hall for the commode. Didn't make it in time, had to do some cleanup afterwards. :( Next morning same thing, cold sweat from every pore, shivering, head resting on rim of toilet, felt like a zombie. I felt totally fine the next day. If that's what Kobe had, then he was a little trooper (as VF says) not to take a game off.

I cannot recall any conjecture that it was done purposefully. Considering how easily we humans can actually get food poisoning, I suspect a lot of us have had it and not really realized it. Symptoms can range from the very violent to no worse than a medium hangover.

It's my recollection the main topic of discussion was whether or not Kobe was exaggerating. It was because of that possibility that I referred to Kobe as a "brave little soldier."

Raja had better think twice before he cuts a rap dissing the West soiyde. Other than that, I think he's safe if he sticks to the Ritz and doesn't make it over to Compton, SC, Watts, Inglewood, etc.

Would it have been better than some guy who thought it was a good idea to let Tyra Banks sing on his single?.....or that remix with Destiny's Child?

I don't get the reference, but I will say that Destiny's Child wasn't a good idea to begin with.

I was born in Watts and raised in Los Angeles. All this pseudo gang-tough-guy BS makes me want to puke. When I was old enough to escape that urban cesspool, I did. There is not enough money in the world to make me to live in Los Angeles. Gang signs? Give a a friggin break.

Kobe's town is Newport Beach, the Balboa Peninsula, with all the other skinny bleached blonds with Porches and silicone appendages!

LOL this is just sad. Laker fans obviously have too much time for BS stuff like this.

The reference comes from a rather dumb idea that Kobe should have became a rapper. The first one happened to be his 1st single called K.O.B.E with Tyra on it. Now with Destiny's Child(I'm guessing right before the first two members split) there's a remix of "Say My Name"

Needless to say he stuck to his day job because the record company shelved the album.

How do you know this and I don't?

Maybe you're not as big a fan as you perpetrate to be... :p

Then again:

Uh, what I live for? Basketball, beats and broads
From Italy to the US, yes, it's raw
I'ma search for the one that make my wealth feel poor
Who can ignore the spotlight life of Grandma
My falldown is how I found the aura, so I searched in
There's plenty of women with sex appeal when it's filled
Can even complete the package, all I date is actresses
Can play it safe with them, my money ain't bait
But I must take risks to find a honey that's legit
Whether she push a buck and a six, bumpin' some mad chips
Out on her own, or live out of moms and pop's home
Watch time, fashion, Adidas attire or Timbo's
I don't know, yo, these women come and go
Like the wind they blow, how do I know it's you for sure?
When God talk to me, give me a signal
But until then, all my ears hear, just let me flow
C'mon

If I were a Kobe Bryant fan, I wouldn't want to claim knowledge of this either...

HOOK (2x)
[Tyra Banks]
K-O-B-E, I L-O-V-E you
I believe you are very fine
If you give me one chance, I promise to love you
And be with you forever more

:: snickers uncontrollably ::

I'm assuming you've seen and heard Webber's music video?? ;)

How'd all that time off last year work out for Artest's "music career"?? ;)

...and yes, I've heard Kobe's "song"...ridiculous. Why do these guys think they can be music stars?? They're as delusional as those people on American Idol!!

Lol. I'd actually prop him for being funny if he was actually trying to be funny.

Well about that Destiny's Child remix.....I know it because I have the song.

Here it goes:

Uh, here me out a little bit
I got something to say about that, huh
Hold up sweetie, slow your roll
What you out of your mind, out of control?
Questioning me like I'm a criminal or something
Stole your heart or something
Like I'm up to something
You must be with girlfriends, gossiping
And chicks hate on Kobe cause he ain't with them
Feel me now, listen how silly you sound
Suspecting a voice in the background
Come on now your trust if foul
Checking messages now
How old are we now?
Probably hate me now like Nastradamus
Cause I'm just keeping it real wit you honest
My silence forgive I was stressing then
I was shopping with my ex for lingerie
For my newfound love, that would be you
No shame in your name, I'll say what I want to

I've heard it, and it sucks.

I wasn't making fun of Gargamel because Kobe Bryant made a crappy rap record. I was making fun of Gargamel because, as someone who presents himself as a "Kobe guy," he had no idea that Kobe had ever done that.

Got it. Hey, at least we agree on what should and should not pass as music! ;)

I'm a Lakers guy, it's just that no one ever talks about the other 11 players on the team.
