NBA.com - The Toronto Raptors have traded center Rafael Araujo to the Utah Jazz in exchange for Kris Humphries and Robert Whaley.

Bryan Colangelo, the Raptors new GM, was quoted as saying,
"We wish Rafael well and feel this will be a positive move for both teams."

Araujo was a controversial pick of the 2004 Draft, when the Raptors selected him with the 8th selection

I didnt know players could be traded while the playoffs were still going on...

Same here. Wonder why they did this. Salary positioning? Doesn't seem like any of the players involved were doing much of anything on the floor.

OMGZ! First trade... ;)

Don't know what this does for Jazz, guess Araujo's a good passer? Raps get a couple unproven bigs, but have potential to be okay, and one or both could be those "bangers" that Bosh wants to help him out down low. So now the Raps likely draft Bargnani or Marcus Williams...

FYI - The trade embargo ends with the end of a team's season. So everyone but Dallas and Miami are free to make trades. I can't remember the last time I saw a trade after the season and before the draft, however, unless it involved the upcoming draft picks...

I dont know what this says about the Jazz but they have had a workout recently with O'bryant, Sene, Shelden and Armostrong, and they are really high on Saer Sene...some say they will take him with the 14th pick, and Karl Malone also really likes his potential, they also asked him to stay couple of days to have private workouts with Malone too...so know they have Okur, Boozer, maybe Sene?, Araujo, Collins

so does this mean they might be willing to trade Boozer?

How funny, I always thought of Rafael Araujo as a Utah Jazz player ever since he was in college. Good to see him in the team I thought he should be. :D

Didn't Webber get traded to Sac in May?

Collins is a FA, so that may open things up. Still, you never know. All indications were that they wanted to dump Boozer when he was hurt last year, then he returned and had some near dominant stretches in March and April.

Hoffa will fit that physical style the Jazz play. He is nothing more than a foul machine and we saw first hand last season that he is dirty. But I think Toronto got some pretty good players here.
