Quincy Douby Wins Rookie NBA Live Tournament

For his part, Douby earned a ticket to the championship game by easily running over Lakers guard Jordan Farmar, 31-16, in a semifinals matchup that had both players selecting the L.A. Lakers and Farmar screaming foul.

"You shouldn't be able to pick a team you're not under contract with," Farmer protested.

Douby didn't care. He knew Kobe Bryant could get him the title he desired, and it was on his coattails that he rode as the the championship trophy came within reach.

Using an onslaught of penetrations and dunks from Bryant, who scored 27 points, Douby marched out to an 11-5 halftime edge before breaking the game open in the second half.
 
is the game finished? if so, he couldve played as himself if he picked the kings which is cool
 
NBA Live sucks...the superstar moves make it extremly arcadey...2k is a waaaay better simulation in terms of realism

True but this is NBA live 2007, not 2006. Live 2007 improved on a lot of areas including player movements, facial expressions, shooting animation, dunking animation, and more. I still think 2K7 has the slight edge over Live 07 because of the overall playing experience you get with 2k basketball games. But as far as realism goes, look out for the graphics and player animations in Live 07.

One thing I hate about 2k6 is the player ratings. Artest has an 83 three point shooting. Sorry but thats no where near what his real 3 pt shooting is. And they give Kobe like a 70 3 pt rating when he drains it all day like he's 90 for some wierd reason.

I also believe they took out the superstar move.

NBA2k6 is definitely the best hoop game ever created for a console. I CAN'T wait until 2k7 comes out, i hope they rate Kevin Martin a little better this time around.

honestly I do not like his passion to Kobe and Lakers. I can imagine rookies from other teams choosing Lakers but not Kings ones. Yes, it is just a video game but anyway. It was not smart.

he is Lakers a fan and he was honest with us because he is young and he is not spoilt yet. he was not afraid to tell the truth. right now he is in Sacramento. sure, it is a video game but he knows about our relationship with Lakers. it says that he is still Lakers fan. and he was not afraid to show it again. and I do not like it actually. if you are a King, you are a King, especially if it concerns Lakers.

VF21, can you imagine a Celtic fan to play for Rangers team or a Real fan to play for Barcelona, or a Toronto ML fan to play for Montreal Canadians (even if it is a video game) ?? I can not, definitely can not. Can you?
 
He has been a King for how long, a month? To expect him to show any kind of hostility towards the Lakers is just plain stupid IMHO. And if you're playing a video game where one player can take over the team and do pretty much everything, Kobe is as good a choice as any. Say what you want about him or the Lakers but he is still one the most talented if not the most talented player in the NBA today.

He knew how people "like" Lakers in here. I do not want him to hate Lakers, I want him not to show his love to this team in public.

Dude, lighten up. I think you're all getting way too involved in a silly thread about a bleeping video game.

Douby said he's always followed the Lakers. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that. Was he supposed to divine years ago that he would someday be drafted by the Kings? So, if he's in a VIDEO GAME tournament and picks Lakers, who cares?

I've routinely drafted Lakers for my NBA fantasy leagues. I may be a Kings fan but I'm not insane.

lol all that sums up basically what i was thinking. I would pick the Lakers too if I was playing the game. I scored 104 points with Kobe playing against my brother and he got hella pissed everytime I shot the ball with Kobe. :p
