Oh, Acy's looking to get paid quite a bit more, is my guess.

And (un)fortunately, he will likely get quite a bit more than $1 million a year, for the sole reason that with his improved 3-pt shooting, he can bill himself as a "Stretch 4".
Quincy improved his 3-pt shooting to almost 40%, and he's only been in the league 4 years - he may just tap into the big Stretch 4 money that the NBA will be chasing/offering this off-season.
I would not be surprised to see him get $5 mill a year for 4 years.

What's funny is people who think $1 Million is a lot of money, but think the guy making $1 million should turn down another $300K (in theory), as if that isn't a lot of money. Seriously have you done the math?

Q is in the same position as Seth both would be better off coming back for cheaper here since both play tweener positions which the L is stacked in. I really don't think there's many other places where either right now would get any significant playing time if every team in the NBA was healthy.

True but Quincy's position may also be the most valuable right now. I mean look at what Miami is doing to Charlotte with Wade, Richardson, Winslow, Johnson, Deng. That's a whole bunch of athletic guys roughly around Quincys size and paired with Whiteside it allows Miami to be all over the place on defense.
I think teams are actively looking for guys like Quincy like never before. Granted Quincy is one of the lower tier guys, because he can't handle the ball, but some teams may be desperate enough to go after him. After all players like Winslow or Stanley Johnson don't grow on trees.

Quincy Acy started 22 games for the Knicks two seasons ago and was still available at the minimum salary this last offseason. He actually started 29 games for the Kings this year but played fewer minutes per game and put up slightly lower scoring and rebounding stats. I'd like Quincy back on the Kings and I think he has value in the locker room, on the bench and as a 5th or 6th big but I don't think he's going to get offers for significantly more than the new minimum. Maybe $2 million a year? Likewise with Curry who looked good but (1) still isn't a natural PG (2) had a small sample size of good games at the end of the year when guys are often fool's gold. I think Curry could become a valuable backup PG and bench scorer but I'm not sure any team is going to offer him a big contract. I think 3 years/$10 million or so would be a nice contract to bring him back with - maybe slightly more if Rondo leaves and he's expected to be the backup PG instead of the 3rd stringer.

From your insistence that it's somehow "funny" he has to take care of himself because he made a million dollars, which isn't even enough money for most people to retire on. I don't mean to thread hijack, carry on.
