Hello, I am trying to find out where the 2007 WNBA all star game will be held. Is there a particular web site where this info can be located? Thank You,
-BMW, Redding, CA

A. The game date and location have not yet been announced, though I know they are working on it. The date will likely be in early July again since that is the midpoint of the season. As far as location goes, teams have to submit their request to actually host the game. So even if fans want the game to take place in their city but their front office has not made their presentation, they will not be granted host city status. So fans, get on your team to host the game!

What do we have to do to pressure the MSE to make a presentation to host the ASG? It would be nice to see an ASG at Arco with Yo (in possibly her last season) around!

Some good sources say we have a shot. Then again I heard it may be in Washington D.C again...if so I will not go since I went there before.
Time for the West Coast to host!

The last time the West hosted an ASG was Phoenix in 2000.

And you're right: it's WAYYYY overdue that the ASG is held somewhere west of the Mississippi!

I could understand if stadium issues might prevent Sacramento or Seattle from hosting the ASG, though. Maybe Houston?

Or this idea: have the ASG in a non-WNBA city? That way, they could gauge possible interest for potential future sites for a possible relocation or an expansion franchise: Bay Area, Philadelphia, Knoxville-TN, Denver, Columbus-OH, Kansas City, St. Louis, Dallas, Boston, Atlanta, Albuquerque-NM, Bentonville-ARK, or even in Vegas. Or they could have it in a place where the college women's b-ball interest is strong, which is certainly true in Knoxville, TN!

I figure if next year's NBA ASG will be in Las Vegas (a non-NBA city), what's wrong with the WNBA doing likewise?

Because they have freakin' fan bases that have been supporting it and not getting rewarded for it. Stadium issues should not preclude the allstar game from coming here if MS&E wants to have it here. Stadium issues may damper MSE's wanting to host it now.

If they (the league) don't have any intention of moving it around to cities which already have teams, and have a solid history of fan support, then put the damn thing some place permanently like the NFL does for the pro bowl and call it even. Where might the permanent place be for the W? Oh, I dunno, for laughs I'll toss out MSG...since its only ever hosting it MOST of the time anyway. Stop the charade, eliminate the mystery so people can plan their travel accordingly.

I have to agree MBF....If NY is where they want to keep it every year, for what ever reason then so be it, I for one have been all 3 times in NY & would love to bring it back West. I don't plan on attending on any previous destinations, unless it was Phoenix.
On another board they posted the Date for July 15th...no location yet hum?
