Whatever happens, I don't think the Kings will be a playoff contender until they find a way to have Thorton become their 6th man. They need a strong scorer off the bench. I'm not counting on Jimmer at this point, but would be very happy if he blossoms.
If the Kings take Drummond or Henson, it might be better to go after Ersan Ill to start alongside of Cousins for better balance. You bring in a young shot blocker early - maybe even Whiteside - if the Kings are getting hammered in the paint.
I guess Jimmer is #14 on your depth chart?![]()
Its easy to forget him.
Seriously, I will wait to see if he has taken dramatic steps forward as a ballhandler and defender, but I think people still counting on him are still invested in the college hype. Adn with Reke/Thronton/IT in town, unless we either run Reke at SF again, which will result pretty quickly in him being traded, either at hsi demand or ours, or trade one of those guys, Jimmer has no place even if he were all that. Especially nto with Salmons, hopefully (and I do hop ehere) TWill etc. running about as well. If Reke/Thornton/IT are the guards there might be 10min a game there for Jimmer.
MKG will also most likey be unavailable unless we move up and no way in hell the Maloofs amnesty Salmons.
Sorry to burst your bubble, just trying to think in realistic terms here. We do have the worst owners in basketball and they will approach the offseason as such
Here is my idea for the Ultimate Offseason Move for the Kings:
Trade: No one, nowhere for nobody. The Kings have lots of prospects and developing talent... let's let them develop! This team needs consistency and time.
Tyreke doesn't need to be traded, he needs to be not traded.
Its easy to forget him.

IMO, one of first two options will most likely happen and I like it.I agree, Rekes best shot in the league at being a star is the 1/pg/main ballhandler whatever you want to call it. If were going to succeed we need Reke at PG being a dominant player. he's most likely never going to be good enough at shooting to play SG and he's not an sf at all. this past year was weird but I actually thought he had good vision and passing his first year. if were not going to play him at pg, then we need to trade him for iguodala or rudy gay or Danny granger or someone. maybe the #6 for Barnes or Lillard. If it were up to me it'd be.
1) Evans
2) Thornton
3) T-Will (secondary ballhandler)
4) Drummond
5) Cousins
6th man JT
Isaiah 2nd team pg
trade jimmer for a late 1st grab someone who belongs in the NBA is a SF and can shoot from range.
or:
1) Evans
2) Twill
3) Barnes
4) JT/hopefully increased role for whiteside
5) Cousins
6th man Thornton
or
1) Isaiah
2) Jeremy Lamb
3) Granger/Iguodala/Rudy Gay
4) Drummond
5) Cousins
trade tyreke and Thornton
I'm expecting big improvements from Jimmer this year. JJ Redick took a couple of years to figure out his role in the nba and now he's a valuable bench guy. Jimmer should be able to do the same... lord knows we need his shooting. Its easy to forget him.
