Program Alert: Texas/Durant on CBS right now

nbrans

All-Star
Future Sacramento King Kevin Durant and the other Longhorns playing Villanova on CBS.

Watch at your own risk, it will make you root against the Kings every game the rest of the season.

Durant is not very good at establishing position in the post. He gets pushed out/bothered very easily.

You know, I've never thought Rick Barnes is a good coach, and this pretty much seals it. Texas has one of the most talented wings in the country and they can't even figure out how to run a play for him or get him the ball in a place where he can score.

Why is Rick Barnes allowing their guards to keep chucking up 3 pointers? Give the ball to Durant... it's not that complicated.

Seriously. They haven't once tried to post him up, they haven't had him coming off screens. It's pretty stupid.

Next up: 7'3" Hasheem Thabeet and the UConn Huskies.

Wow. This guy is big and athletic.

Just like their football coach, Barnes is a used-car salesman who can recruit, but his players never get better under him.

Yeah, I know. He had the PGs just sitting out there chucking threes. WTF? You have KEVIN FREAKIN DURANT on your team! And you're letting some nobodys chuck?

The NCAA is more team orientored unlike the pro game, less iso and more touches for everybody, thats one reason Durant is getting the ball less. And something that has always hated about the pro game is that they take way to many three instead of looking for the easy baskets.

ya, since its pretty obvious that this season is going down the tubes what else is there really to hope for? The only positive that i can hold onto is that this is probably the best season to have a down year because the draft looks so deep.

<sigh> still sucks though...

Speaking of the draft, how good is Phoenix looking about now? They have the rights to the Hawk's first rounder as long as its not in the top 3... Can you imagine Joakim Noah on that team?!

There are a hell of a lot of better players than Joakim Noah. Hell I think Al Horford has more potential than him. Noah is a glorified Ben Wallace. Decent defense, rebounding, shot blocking, and of course no offense. And not to mention, he doesn't have Wallace's strength either. (granted he is taller than Wallace)

As for Durant, this was definitely a bad game for him. Although, he should have been touching the ball a lot more. But even so, he wasn't making shots. There have been games where he's just been unstoppable. He's definitely gotten better as the season has progressed so this really doesn't mean much.

Finally, as for Rick Barnes, I've had issues with his coaching but he's a damn good recruiter (he got Durant afterall) so I'm not going to complain too much. This team is really young and they'll grow up and become really good even if Durant bolts after this year.
