I was just messing around with google, and i came across this website procricket.com They have teams for san francisco and other major cities. It's a shame that nobody cares about cricket in the US.... it's such a fun sport. I'll take it over baseball anyday.

I hope you lot do 'discover' cricket. Living in England all my life i have grown up with it and to me its a wonderful game.

The danger is that you dont get 'proper' cricket (5 day 'tests') but instead just the wham-bam limited overs, one day variety where there is little in the way of tactical bias just a slog at the end...exciting to watch...but not really 'cricket'.

Its funny, i take cricket and soccer for granted here as i am force-fed them on the telly..and what do i crave..? Kings basketball and mlb (i dont have an mlb team) where i have to get up at 3am to follow a west coast game on the net. the away games vs Eastern conference teams mean i can go to bed late as they start at midnight and are a luxury.

So with or without cricket i would swap locations with most of you anytime!!

It is my long-held belief that cricket is the longest-lasting practical joke in the history of the world. I think some Brits got together a very long time ago to play a game. Someone they didn't want to play with came up and said, "Hey, can I play, too?" To prevent him from ever being able to play, they simply started making up a bunch of rules. Sure enough, the guy got discouraged and left. And it's been going on ever since...

don't forget that baseball derived from cricket. In the early 1800's we used to have teams all over the eastern US. but sometime down the road it became extinct and a new species arrived that we now know as baseball.

I know what you'd love about cricket....forget the big 'long balls' hit for six, forget the tension as you await the umpire's virdict on whether the batsman is out 'leg before wicket', ignore the hatrick balls as the demon bowler takes three wickets in successive deliveries, even dismiss the wonders of learning the fielding positions...in mean what other spot has a place to stand on the field knnown as 'silly mid-on'?...

Push all of that to one side...i know what will hook you guys...stats..cricket has loads of stats and of course, ecause its been going on for so long there's always the fun of selecting a theoretical Super XI from the mists of time, or because the stars are international, a current World XI...

Thinking about it...my advice is DONT go near the game, too many of you may not return to KingsFans.com. you have been warned (lol) !!

It's hard to believe that you're not just making it up as you go. This is a real sport(!!!!). It reminds me of when Calvin and Hobbes "improvise" to play baseball. You can't write stuff this good. "leg before wicket"? "demon bowler takes three wickets"? I love it!

That sounds almost just like something said on Family Guy, referring to cricket, once.
