The Knicks may shortly become know as the Phoenix of the East with head coach Mike D'Antoni firmly in charge. They will run and shoot for sure but like the Kings have a bunch of holes to fill in their roster. Tune in 3pm Friday for a live view of the game.

The Knicks drafted 8th overall this year and selected Jordan Hill, the 6-10/235 power forward who played with Arizona for 3 years. On their summer league roster are a few names some might remember, all originally first round draft choices:

Nikoloz Tsitishvili, the 7-0/225 Georgian (Eastern Europe) originally drafted 5th overall by the Nuggets in the 2002 draft but who never quite panned out. Has played the last few years in Spain and Italy.

Yaroslav Korolev, a 6-9/210 Russian originally drafted by the Clippers with their 12th pick overall in the 2005 NBA draft. Didn't get much time with them for two years, was released in 2007, returned to his native Russia and played the last 2 years for Dynamo Moscow.

Toney Douglas, 6-1/200 G drafted in first round by the Lakers in 2009 then traded to the Knicks for a future 2nd round pick and cash.

Morris Almond, 6-6/225 SG from Rice, originally drafted in first round by the Jazz in the 2007 he bounced back and forth between the Jazz and the D-League since.

Let's hope Evans finger is healed enough for him to get major minutes.
