Last week, the Kings proved that they were among the elite teams of the Eastern conference. Unfortunately, Sacramento is about as Western as it gets (well, maybe not geographically, but you get the idea.)
How did our spurt affect the rankings? Let's find out!

Rudy Gay was a pivotal member of Team USA during the 2014 FIBA World Cup due to his versatility and ability to stretch the floor as a power forward. He isn’t able to create the same mismatches in the NBA, but he still might be best suited for the four. George Karl started Gay at PF the last two games, leading to back-to-back wins and big efforts from Gay (59 points combined).

With Rudy Gay locked in for the long term, George Karl must continue putting him in good spots.

The Kings' defense has been pretty terrible under George Karl, but Rudy Gay seems to like his new coach. Gay has averaged 24.5 points on 49 percent shooting (41 percent from 3-point range) in 15 games under Karl. His free throw rate (34 attempts per 100 shots from the field) and true shooting percentage (55.4 percent) are both at career-high marks.
This week: vs. PHI, @ PHX, @ NOP

As an offseason gift I'm going to buy them all compasses so they can figure out what direction they're going.

Rudy Gay is flourishing under coach George Karl, averaging 25.4 points on 49.2 percent shooting in his last 10 games.

Saw multiple messages of tough love on Twitter to DeMarcus Cousins last week from our own David Thorpe. How Boogie responds to George Karl is obviously what matters most, but such tweets always catch the eye when True Hoop TV's own coach decide to publicly challenge a player.
