So, here we are again, in a familiar setting. It's late in the season, and other teams are fighting for playoff positioning. We're, well, at least we're not fighting amongst ourselves, but, wouldn't that mean we still care? I know of one player who does.

DeMarcus Cousins has only been ejected from one game this season, but he leads the league with 4.1 fouls per game and fouled out of his 10th game of the season Saturday. The Kings’ star gets plenty of flack for picking up technicals (10 already this season after vowing to only collect five), but the personal fouls have been just as costly.

George Karl is refusing to show frustration, which is the right approach here.

Rudy Gay shot well, but injured his knee, and the Kings allowed almost 112 points per 100 possessions on the trip. They rank last defensively under George Karl and begin their five-game homestand with two of the league's top six offenses.

They've been outscored 130-76 in the second half of their past two games. Those are "throw yourself out the window to try and get away from them" numbers.

All-Star DeMarcus Cousins’ point, rebound and assist averages haven’t changed much with the arrival of coach George Karl.

Not paying too much attention to the results in these early days of George Karl's reign, since draft position means far more to the Kings at the minute than wins. Yet I'm fairly sure it's a priority for the new coach to get this group playing much better D going forward. This can't continue.
