The Kings have won four of their last five games, with seven of their eight rotation guys shooting better than 45 percent and six of them scoring in double-figures in Sunday's win in Toronto. Their defense has been decent too, and they're suddenly tied (along with three other teams) in the win column with the eighth-place Jazz. But they're 0-6 on the second night of a back-to-back, with two more of those in the next eight days.

Rattled off four wins out of five amid the Rajon Rondo controversy, and are suddenly just a game back of the eighth seed (while still five games under .500). They face just two opponents over. 500 in their next six. Might the dysfunction junction have a run in them?

This is our 10th opportunity of the season to comment on the Kings. Rather amazingly, Omri Casspi has been mentioned only once in the previous nine comments. But you'll have to indulge us this week after we clicked on the 3-point percentage leaders and found OC tied for fifth among qualified shooters ... with a certain Steph Curry.

Don’t look now, but at the ugly back end of the Western Conference Sacramento is just one game out of the playoffs, having won four-of-five. They are 10-9 when DeMarcus Cousins plays, he’s the face of the franchise and it’s most popular player as they move into a new building next season, so explain to me again why you think they want to trade him?

“Quietly” may not ever be a good descriptor for anything the Kings do. That said, they’ve quietly won four of five, including perhaps their best showing of the year in a win over the Raptors that assuredly left sometimes-kings-fan Drake in a conflicted, contemplative state.
Mean Ranking: 20.8
