This has nothing to do with basketball.

Brick told me to take the night off, but, like Gay, I'm preparing for the playoffs. I'm going to be on the upswing by the time the new arena opens.

On to the rankings!

Sports Illustrated

The Kings are 19-25 under George Karl and Mike Malone this season. The .431 winning percentage would be their highest in seven years… if it weren’t for the Ty Corbin era (7-21) dragging them down to .361.

Remember when there was concern George Karl was going to be a bad fit for DeMarcus Cousins?

We'll always remember last week as the week that "Sauce Castillo" was born. It was also the week when the Kings put together their first four-game winning streak since early November and the week they dropped into the bottom five in defensive efficiency for the first time this season. If they stay there, it will be five times in the bottom five in the last eight years.
This week: @ MEM, @ HOU, vs. NOP, vs. UTA

They are quietly morphing into a spoiler for -- depending on the schedule -- some team's playoff hopes, or even postseason seeding. Subtly dangerous.

Assuming Chris Mullin takes the St. John’s University coaching job, Kings general manager Pete D’Alessandro would lose his top adviser.

When the playoffs arrive and take in Kevin Love, Charlie Villanueva and Anthony Morrow for the first time, that will leave only one active player with at least 400 NBA games on his resume without a single taste of the postseason. That would be Sacramento's Jason Thompson (531 games).

UNACCEPTABLE.

And you wonder why free agents beat down the doors to get here.

What a long ridiculous streak of stupid defenseless basketball its been. I worry its bred a whole generation of dumb Kings fans too who don't even realize that serious franchises play both ends of the ball. I mean, if you were a new fan how could you possibly know that if you are growing up watching these Kings, having a little hick telling you that shotblocking is overrated, and a New York shuckster telling you what a fun game its been because both teams are running up and down the court scoring at will, and hey, if we score fewer int he ends, still, points!

P.S. your picture is disgusting :p
