Here I agree id rather just give keon, monk, Carter all the pg minutes. This is an uninspiring list and just takes mins away from good young players.

Kuminga has high upside but so far it’s just that. He’s in that Jalen Green mold of wow athleticism and questionable everything else.

When he was healthy last year, he was pretty good as essentially the new school version of Carl Landry in the early Splash Brothers days.

We probably need to double down on the Monk for Washington trade. That solves a lot of problems for us and as of now PJ is the only one of the 3 Mavs seeking an extension that hasn’t signed one.

That’s balanced and you can see what you have for one season. If you suck, you walk into a top ten pick in a strong draft next season and you have enough data to make decisions on what you might need moving forward. I didn’t include Deebo here even though it’s possible he is still on the team next season

There's a strong belief at least one of those guys will be moved. My guess is collier or George. Clarkson is probably a buy out candidate also.
But ill tell you the big difference, all 5 of them combined dont make what lavine does.
Nobody is going to freak out if they let clarkson sit on the bench. Now imagine we told lavine sorry we have keon, Clifford, Carter, monk, find a trade or prepared to sit on the bench lol.

Id love monk for pj, and Demar for rozier (where rozier doesnt play)
Solves a lot of our problems with those 2 moves and much better balance.
If Monk is gone I wouldn’t mind keeping DeRozan as a guy to lead the 2nd unit. Then the following year you can buy him out for $10M or keep as an expiring $25M trade chip.
Kuminga would be an interesting swing. He's very much in the RJ mold where he has all the pedigree and tools, but hasn't impacted winning yet.
I would take that pitch. Can’t help but think Golden State might not have been the best situation for him.
They could be tempted with a ddr swap too in a s&t.

Yeah I was looking at that. Not sure how much you can front load a contract. I think 4 years 90 mil and front load 40 of that first year to match lavine. Like I said though not sure if that’s allowed

Kuminga has potential, but taking a big money gamble like that even though it's a young player is still technically corner cutting. If he comes in and is Harrison Barnes with the Mavs then you've kind of cemented your team in.
Kuminga is an excellent swing, I've come around on that. IF you're looking to get out the middle, you have to find the currently (potentially) undervalued guys that have a shot to rise up a tier or 2 into a star. Kuminga has the tools, has shown numerous flashes; can you reign it in, get him away from Kerr and he accesses that ceiling?

It only makes sense if our ball stopper goes out for him. Kuminga turns 23 in a few months, and hes shown some defensive ability to go with his size.

Matt George is sorta feeding off of Damien Barling’s divorced guy energy and saying negative things to say negative things so it’s really hard to parse actual news scoops from hot conjecture right now.

Apparently Malik actually didn't have a FA market. They kept saying "the money wasn't there" for him in FA. Said that Perry would only take this job if he got full control and that he'd get the time to make his moves.
I just don't see it happening. Vivek would not have made the FO and coaching change if he were happy with the direction of this core and franchise. You start over with a new GM and a new HC to change the direction you were heading in; not to keep things rolling on the same path.
But then ended the segment saying there's a lot of talent on this team, although mismatched and that Perry's not just going to dump Malik or dump DDR. So all in all a big old "DUH" and just talking around in circles. Didn't really get any sense he had any actionable info.

What does "no" value mean though right? He's a volume combo guard that doesn't play defense so no, he's not going to have some type of astronomical value but no value can't be true. Remember he was one foot out of the league before the Lakers took a chance so it's likely a limited market anyway but no market? nah.

Well no freaking crap.
I just see no world where Vivek fires his COY and EOY 1 year and a half and 2 years after they won that award to tell Perry "Of course we can be patient and see where things go" by running this roster back. Now, if patient means rebuild? That's a different sort of patient. But I would think Perry sold him on a vision of how he can remake this roster, what's gone wrong and what he can correct to get us back to the playoffs.
If the off-season is truly drafting Nique Clifford and signing Dennis Schroeder, this franchise is hopeless. Would be beyond disheartening.

He didnt have FA market like there is no FA market this year. Teams dont have cap space to spend. It's an MLE market.
