Bol Bol?

Starting?

Marcus Smart was in there as well the ultimate tank lineup I guess

Could end up that way, but again, and I get Kings fans are so used to not having elite athletes, especially ones that mostly use it on the defensive end of the floor, but Carter literally broke combine records. That's the upside with someone like him. This is the one rare time where the Kings didn't pick a Justin Jackson over an OG Anunoby. Take the upside guy with a pulse and the physical prowess and see what happens. If it flames out, it flames out. If he pans out? Gold.

This is a big summer for Carter so we might have a good idea where his desire to get better is at. He's got the tools now he's got to put in the work. In watching where the league is heading, legit physical defense is going to be coming back big time. This "deflections" era started by the Warriors is slowly dying. Real defense is going to matter. The play in was indeed a prelude when it comes to handsy defenders. The refs aren't going to let that happen every game. Sitting down in posture, sticking to your man, and flat out making players either not even take shots against you or see their FG%'s decline when they do is coming back around.
Excellent point guards usually have instincts you can't teach. For example, excellent passing skill is something you either have or don't have. I don't see the instinctual element in Carter's game so I'm skeptical at this point of him ever being an elite point guard, but even if he doesn't get to the top 10 area for point guards he could still be an important player on this team.

Yeah, it depends what Carter develops into as a player out of pick and roll. I've brought up how passing from the PG position has changed mightily in the last 10 years. The fact was Carter was one of the best players in all of college his last year getting his team points out of pick and roll. He was 89th in pick and roll efficiency with a pretty ridiculous PPP out of pick and roll. Yeah, he's certainly no Kyrie with the ball but if he can consistently get down hill off the screen thus creating ball rotation out of the kick he should be more than fine. Even if he ends up needing another ball handler next to him his ability to defend up should make it workable regardless of who the "PG" is on the floor.

Interesting stats. It will be interesting watching him next year. Hopefully, he can stay away from the injury bug.

How does Dallas justify trading two starters and one bing there best perimeter defender for Derozan. wouldn’t Chicago have traded him if they could get half that value for him

They already have Lively at center and AD can play there as well so I’m not sure they want to have a 14 million dollar backup center that probably won’t play too much. Flagg is ready to play now and is better than PJ so that might make him expendable. They could bring Klay off the bench and they have Martin and Marshall for wing depth. Essentially they are trading two guys who might combine for 25 minutes for a dude that can score 22 a game and hit clutch shots. They don’t have to give up any draft capital to do it.

Their philosophy is length and defense DD doesn’t fit that and I don’t get why they’d bring him he’d get in the way of AD/Flagg. Washington is on a hood contract too they probably should hold on to him

Thinking about the draft. What about trading our ‘27 first round pick (from the Spurs) for Okc’s 15 and 24 this year? The Thunder don’t have roster space or developmental time for more draft picks. They push two picks they don’t need out a bit further and get a roll of the dice on an unprotected pick (with injuries you just never know) Kings get the ball rolling on a youth movement in case the wheels fall off with 3 picks in this draft.

Does anyone know which picks we traded to the Wizards for Jonas? Ham said we traded the Charlotte picks, one to Memphis and one to the Wizards but he was mistaken because the Charlotte pick was a protected first that hadn’t conveyed yet. I checked fanspo and it showed our own ‘28 second rounder outgoing to Memphis and then one second rounder of our own to the Wiz but it doesn’t show another one.

Zach LaVine

I saw Matt Georges trading Ideas for DeRozan and while hearing the one where DeRozan goes to the Clippers, I thought about the Clippers being one of the only teams that might be interested in LaVine.

LaVine already showed that he can score highly efficient, and i think the Clippers would be an environment where he could to that again+they have an owner ready to spend money as long as Kawhi is there.

They would have to give us more Salary back then just Norm for this to work out, but wouldn't both teams benefit from this?

Then trade DeRozan to the Lakers for DFS and Monk to the Mavs, who are looking for a ball handler, for Lively+filler, and we go ourselves a team that can suck for a while and develop in the meantime

Maybe find a spot for sabonis for young assets, too.

Cleveland instantly gets worse on defense with that move

I'm sure the idea would probably be balancing with a little more physicality and skill. The Cavs defense got smoked in the playoffs and mostly by two physical skilled bigs. Not that Domas has guarantees to really help them come playoff time but on the surface the Cavs could use a little more physical play at the rim and a little more skill in the frontcourt. Mobley and Domas looks about as balanced as a team can get on paper. Defenses anchored in the front court almost entirely might not be the way. Yeah, if it's Pacers/Knicks and Nuggets/Wolves, defense is all about physical G and F play and something at one of the frontcourt spots that can feast offensively.

If Domas and Turner didn't work, I have no reason to believe that Domas and Mobley will.

They’re completely different players though. Turner isn’t mobile enough to really guard on the perimeter, which sorta forced Domas to always guard down whenever they were on the floor together. Evan Mobley is quite possibly the most mobile 7 foot tall defensive big in the history of the NBA

Mobley is better than Turner, and more versatile. He's a legit unicorn on defense. Plus they have Donovan Mitchell. He would probably be the most talented player that Domas has every played with and for sure he and Mobley would be the best in the end most likely. If the Cavs can solve something that looked like an issue when the lights got the hottest by picking up an All star for decent but not great players then I see how it could be worth a shot.

Mobley's versatility is useless next to Domas if Domas is a traffic cone, I know we are trying really hard to convince ourselves that it would work but the truth would come to light in a timely manner
