Do you THINK Barry Bonds used performance enhancing drugs?

I've altered Royal Diva's poll just a little, because I think people are getting hung up on the "guilty" or "innocent" terminology...

Thank you, I didn't even look at the other thread, all the terminology and assumptions that go into the title really just muck it up. I can't even begin to answer what is posed over there.

And I vote yes.

Once again being an avid, life long San Francisco Giants and Barry Bonds fan, "Yes, i do believe that Bonds knowingly took steroids", and it is not difficult for me to admit that.

But what Bonds did in 1998-02 has little to do with what is going on right now. At one time it mattered to me whether Bonds broke the Home Run record. It does not matter to me anymore. He only did what he was allowed to do, right, wrong or indifferent.

But Bonds being the main player on the 2006 San Francisco Giants, that matters. Me coming home from a hard day's work, putting up my feet and watching the Giants and being entertained, that matters. I could care less about the sanctity of the sport between 1998 and 2002, that is gone. I do care about the sanctity of the sport right now. I want to see the best player on my team play right now. I hope there is nothing wrong with that.

You will probably only see your best player for about 40 games. His knee will not hold up. Have you seen him try and run?

Anyways, I voted yes. I was hoping for the "yes, are you kidding, since when did 40 year old men have growth spurts and double head sizes" option in the poll.

Nope. Nothing wrong with that in any way...

And I hope you can understand where I'm coming from in the comments I made in the other Bonds thread.

No doubt, I totally respect you VF21. It is unfortunate that Sports in America today is big business. In my opinion we as Kings fans are experiencing what in my opinion is the most exciting season with the Kings since 2002, but the big elephant in the room is "will our team even be around in the future" for us to enjoy more season like this.

Barry Bonds is an amazing talent. One of the top 3 in the history of the game. It is a shame that the God-given talent he already had, is now being tarnished in the eyes of society because he felt he needed to enhance his performance. I believed that Bonds would have gotten to 660 without the drugs. But because of the pressures of big business in sports, we now have to pick apart everything we watch in every sport. It is a shame. :(

We as fans have become more intelligent. For the prices we pay, we better pick apart everything. It is a shame that he felt it necessary to take steroids.

How about the "i don't care" option

or more exactly: "If he did, and didn't get caught in the act, bully for him."

Question?: Did Jordan push off on that final play against the Jazz?
Answer: That one bothers me much MUCH more. Because the ONLY reason it wasn't called was because it was "His Holiness, MJ the God". There is no indication that Bonds was "allowed" to do more because of his star power or anything. So he got away with something... if you aren't cheatin' you ain't trying.... etc... etc... etc...

I reitterate. Who cares. (even if you COULD give a crap about baseball)

There isn't supposed to be any discussion around the issue as well?

Do you really want that kind of discussion? I can't imagine it going well, seeing as it will all be based on hearsay. Not the best use of braincells or eyeballs.

Bonds is GUILTY!!!! Common sense says so.

goggles and greenking.... Are 1 of you stanley in roseville?;)

Thanks for reopening the thread so I could vote.:p

i voted i don;'t know. in truth, no one knows expect bonds. no book is going to tell the real truth, only bonds knows what goes in and out of his body.

^^Not really.

Some of us have been having a really good discussion about this. A poll was started but the responses were too restrictive, so I created this one for the basic "yes," "no" or "I don't know" choice primarily for people who were interested...

I don't see the need for a "who cares?" If you don't care, you don't need to waste your time in the thread.

;)
