2003 San Antonio Spurs
vs.
2003 Sacramento Kings
Of all the years the Kings were good, in my opinion, there were only two years were they realistically could have won the Championship. 2002 and 2003. 2003 is the year where a San Antonio - Sacramento matchup was as close as it was ever going to be. 2002 Sacramento was better and San Antonio was better every other year. Too bad Webbers knee gave out, or this could have been great series in two great venues.
Prediction: 4-3 Spurs
2000 San Antonio Spurs
vs
2000 Los Angeles Lakers
Going in the 2000 playoffs there was only one team that really really worried me. The San Antonio Spurs. One year earlier San Antonio swept the Lakers in the last series played at the old forum. The last regular season game between these teams in San Antonio (I believe) was a precursor to them meeting in the Western Conference Finals. Unfortunately Duncan broke his leg before the playoffs and the Spurs got knocked off in the first round while the lakers went on to a three-peat.
Prediction: 4-3 Lakers
1998 Chicago Bulls
vs.
1998 Los Angeles Lakers
I cant make an argument for this being a good series because in 1998 the Lakers were not in the same league as the Bulls, but in hindsight it would have been the old guard vs. the new guard. Jordan and Pippen who dominated the 90's vs. Kobe and Shaq who would replace them as the best great dominant duo in the league.
Prediction: 4-0 Bulls
