I will continue to listen to ideas and opinions of this thread. However I will not put every player on the poll. To make the poll you must have played in every game.

Well this was a good week for the Kings as they won 3 of 4. Even with the road loss to Phoenix, the Kings can take much away from this week. It seems as though we have re-established home dominance. We need that to remain constant if we are to have a shot at the playoffs. We have two road games before the all star break and we need them both. And both are winnable. Then we can recharge our bruised up staff for the final push.

Stat of the week: Avg. Pts. For: 104 Avg. Pts. Against: 93

This is what is needed to get to the playoffs. And it all started with DEFENSE. Which is what you need to stay in the playoffs. There is no room for let up.

Bibby: Not a good week for Mike. Shot around 40%. Once he finds his niche with this group things will be sweet.

K-Mart: Amazing week for the young one. If he continues excelling like he has then I will have to start calling him a vet. Makes an excellent case for POTW. For the week: 60% from the floor!!, 50% from downtown!!, 6.5 reb/gm and 1.3 stl/gm.

Brad: Big week for Brad. We were fortunate enough to get him back for the Memphis game and he came through huge. Double double with back to back clutch 3's in the final minutes to seal the deal should be enough to get him the award. He gave us: 57% from the field, 4/7 from downtown, 7.3 rebs/gm and 1.5 blk/gm.

Ron: Tough week for our toughest player. Did not shoot well but gave us 110% on the defensive side. Had 14 steals!!! You have to tip your hat to the guy for doing this with an injury. He knows the all star break is coming up and we need these games.

Kenny: Kenny had a good week. Shot and rebounded well. It seems as though he and K-mart combined make a an argument against Bonzi + SAR for the starting spots. Makes a good case for POTW. For the week: 49% from the floor, 9.25 reb/gm and 1.3 stl/gm.

Cisco: Another good week for the younger one. Showed a good commitment to defense. He is starting to figure out how to use his speed and length. Gave us 6 stl and 5 blk on the week.

SAR: Reef is looking much tastier coming off the bench. It won't happen. As I stated earlier I think he makes a good team with Bonzi. Bonzi rebounds while Reef scores. Although, Reef did have 8 boards in 21 min on Sunday so maybe losing a little weight will be good for him. This week: Gave us 12/17 from the floor off the bench.

Skinner: Did not get much playing time this week. :(

Hart: Did not get much playing time this week. :)

Price: We beat up on Chicago so bad that we actually got to see little Ronnie. And I liked what I saw...shooting wise that is.

Sampson: We actually got to see Jamaal too. He got 1 blk in 3 min!!!!! With #'s like that he should be our starting PF.

Corliss: Sigh.

Gotta give it to the mini Kmart, this week. I said if he kept it up my vote would go to him. Kevin has been flat out great in Bonzi's absence. Keep it up.

Went with Brad, although it could easily be KMart or Ron. I feel like Ron could win this award every week simply because of the ridiculous way we play better when he is on the court. You also can't overlook what martin has brought to the table the last few weeks. Absolutely incredible, especially because I didn't expect much at all from him (however, I don't agree with you that he should continue starting when Bonzi gets back- just imagine Bonzi and Ron on the floor at the same time when they have had a few games together- my mouth is drooling).

I went with Brad because the best win of the week was Memphis and we don't beat the Griz without one of Brad's best crunch time performances as a King. His scoring is back up, his assists and passing seem fine, and he actually seems to be playing defense and attacking the boards (although maybe that justifies voting for Ron).

KevMart has consistantly played better than what we needed from him, and for basketball above and beyond the call of duty, I vote him player of the week.

But Artest is making the game much easier for everybody else, especially Kevin. Artest is playing so much better than anyone expected, he gets my vote for player of the month, barring some crazy meltdown.

Can we find a better nickname than K-Mart?

It's used and it's .... cheap.

Kevin Martin deserves something more ... original.

Who says there can be only one K-Mart in the NBA doesn't every town have one?
But, I think our K-Mart is an original.

He deserves a decent nickname.

I chose this guy - and whatta guy at that! Young? Nah, this guy has been playing like he's been in the NBA since the day he was born. He had 77% shooting before last nights game for the last 5 games. Wow! You can't say anything bad about this guy this whole week, and what is really amazing to me is while I was watching the game and when he did that great steal from the long pass I thought I was watching an old time game back in 2001! It looked like I seen the ghost of Doug Christie's past!

Once again - Wow! Way to go kiddo!

...and just think the guy isn't even 100%. Scary.

I agree, Kmart has already been used. He deserves better than someone's "hand me downs". I do like A1, has that been used before too?

Mini-Mart?

I don't know, I like K-Mart, and we all know who we mean. I am just not sold on A1 or Sauce - meh. No offense to those who like it, of course, I just don't care for it.

It has to be Kevin this young kid is amazing. He reminds me of Pedja when he first got to start for us. It is beautiful seeing a player develop right before our eyes. We have not seen that in quite some time.

For the 2nd week in a row, my vote goes to A1!! Kevin, keep it up, young man. You are showing the world that not only do you belong in the NBA, but that you can excell in the NBA. :)

Tough choice between Martin and Brad, but I gotta go with Brad by a hair this time because he pretty much single-handedly won the Memphis game for us. And considering he played with a busted thumb gives him the edge.

rhuber made it...some people thought it was wussy to be named after a cereal so they decided on a new nickname.

Personally, I'm okay with Kevin.

;)

How can it be wussy to be named after a cereal yet being named after a retailer that is famous for it's "blue light" specials and generally "cheap" product be otherwise?

I'm with VF, Kevin is fine.

Kenyon Martin isnt a King. Its SK!!!!! or A1!!!!!!

POTW is Kevin Martin. Artest is a distant second.
we REALLY need to figure out a good nickname(I know we've visited this topic before, but now that Kevin is getting PT, its time to come up with something FRESH and CATCHY), because, IMO, that both A1 and Special K are kinda...well, you know...cheezy, I guess is the word I'm looking for. lol (I like A1 the best out of the 2, though, just for the record;))
