Well, there were only two games this last week. And both of them were on the road. We split the two games even though we had a chance to win both. We almost let the one in Chicago go, and we had a nice lead in Memphis. So it was good to see that we could get a lead on the road. But it was bad to see that we couldn't maintain those leads. It will be crucial for us to maintain leads on road games for the remainder of this season if we expect to get to the playoffs.

It is hard to win back to back road games, especially with a team that is still trying to find it's rhythm. Defense was the only reason why we had a chance to win both, and why we came away with one.
Memphis is a good defensive team, and we came in there a bit tired.

Live and die by the three: 6/36 from downtown  ...eeeewwww

Stats of the week: 16 steals and 14 blocks in two back-2-back ROAD games.

Bibby: Played great for us in Chicago, and then fell back in the shadows in Memphis. We need consistency, and I think it will come soon. It seems as though when Ron shoots well, so does Mike and vice versa. Both of them had great games in Chicago and terrible games in Memphis. Stats: 17/31 on 2pt FG's :) and only 1/8 from downtown  .

Ron: As stated earlier, had a great game in Chicago and a crappy one in Memphis. His shot selection vs. Memphis was absolutely terrible. But, the greatest part about Ron, is that when he doesn't shoot well, he still has a great impact on the game. Stats: 15/43 from the field but 2/12 of those were from 3pt land. He DID have half of the steals for the week! 8 steals and one block along with a monster game on the boards vs. Chicago (14 rebs, 20 for the week) makes him a candidate for POTW.

Brad: Had a terrible shooting week as well. I wonder if it is his finger, or if he too is still trying to get acclimated to Ron offensively. Either way it was a poor performance from Brad. He almost had a triple double against Chi, so it wasn't all bad. 8/23 from the floor. 16 rebs and 12 assists in the two games.

Kevin: Not a good week, not a bad one either. He struggled in Chicago, and road integrity was a big question of ours. But he came back and had a good game in Memphis, despite our loss. Shot 9/23 but 2/8 from downtown.

Kenny: The "unsung" hero sang very loud this week, and stepped it up where others would not. He clearly had the best week of our starters even though I wanted to fly to Chicago and shoot him in the face for being so crappy at the free throw line. He gets my vote hands down, and he is starting to convince me more and more everyday that he should start. For the week: 11/20 from the floor, 2 steals, 3 blocks and 25 boards!! That is his 4th double double in a row...keep it up Kenny.

SAR: Still battling back from the injury and trying to get some sort of rythym. He had a great week last week and a terrible one this week. I seriously think that he and Kenny need to switch off starting and split minutes because this whole 'I don't wanna play off the bench' thing is really starting to tick me off. 3/11 from the floor is way below his usual capabilities but he did grab 12 boards in 40 min. I said it before, he has lost some weight and it is easier for him to get up and grab rebounds. Personally, I think SAR should get his starting spot back, despite how well Kenny has been playing.

Cisco: He is not shooting well consistently but we all know he has the potential. I think we are watching him progress every game. He has turned himself into a block machine, which is most likely due to Ron. He struggled in Chicago, but he was hardly responsible for us almost giving that game away. He had a great game in Memphis which is a better team, so it is hard to judge him this week. 4/11 from the floor, but only 1/6 from downtown. Got 9 boards and 3 blocks in the two games in 45 total minutes.

Skinner: Saw limited minutes these last two games, but still gave us good rebounding. I would like to see him get some more minutes, especially when Brad isn't doing as well, but Brian wants to score and someone needs to let him know that he is not even our 7th option for scoring. 0/3 from the floor :( but got 7 rebs and a block in 16 total minutes.

No really consistent player this week. Everybody seemed to have 1 good game and 1 bad game. Could be why we were 1-1 last week. Although I am not particularly happy with Kenny's choices of shots, he was by far the most consistent in that he continues to crash the boards and give us additional chances. He got my vote too.

Kenny.

It's great to see a King constantly crashing the boards...Now if his jumper would start falling like last year.

it will start falling when he stops taking it

Kenny was the player of the week, by far, in my estimation. Kenny in the starting line-up is good for 14/8 a night, and he's active and quick as hell, too...but no one notices...as has been mentioned before, he's the 'quietest double-double' around. Rodney McCray used to be like that too when he played for the Kings.

this isnt always a good thing, though. it's nice to have a PF or C who's presence is actually felt. the fact that brad miller is a relatively quiet threat coupled with kenny thomas being a quiet threat equates to a front line with little impact. they both can put up pretty numbers but, together, do little to change the momentum of a game. same thing with SAR at the starting 4. we need an impact guy at PF/C who is going to make his presence known, in the paint especially.

Love the Rodney McCray reference.
