Play-in Round 2023

I'd like to see the play in qualify teams that finish over .500 and within 2 games of the 8 seed.

If no teams meet this criteria, scrap it. I'd even go so far as to make > .500 a qualifier for a 7/8 seed but that would potentially mean losing a first round matchup for top seeds which they'd never go for.

I know the NBA is trying to out think its selves here with the play-in tournament but I for one believe it should be eliminated

I personally think it’s a good thing. It keeps more teams engaged but the bigger reason I like it is the NBA is overflowing with talent. It’s possible we only have one or two teams in the whole league that are not competitive next year. You are going to see a lot less 50 win teams and more hovering a bit above .500
Imo.

I think the rules and the shift in the way the games are officiated has given more players with talent the ability to showcase, rather than calling a more physical game where players earn their points but I completely understand your point of view on it, just because there is more talent does not mean there should be more opportunities for the Playoffs/play-in but enjoy the game anyway you choose

yeah I love the play-in.

I look at the West this year as a perfect example. It was a super competitive race till the very end of the season and it wouldn't be surprising to see any of the top 7 get a bid to the WCF.

Parity is a great thing for the NBA. The playoffs are no fun when you know the super Warriors are going to the finals vs whatever team LeBron is on. We've started to move past that a bit (maybe not with a healthy PHX) in which actual teams are built around 1 or 2 guys and everyone dukes it out.

The Lakers, the vaunted Lakers with three HOFers... (Austin Jordan Reaves incl of course) absolutely suck.

They're just not good at basketball. I don't see them making the playoffs.

James is showing his age....even though he has 16 or so, doesn't look dominant. Shaq earlier all talkin' em up they'd blow out the TWolves. Lakers can still win but I doubt any blowouts.

There were a couple people here that said Minny was better without CAT.
Ummmmm, hell to the no!

not better specifically without KAT..but better without one of KAT or Gobert in general. I’d choose KAT over Gobert but I don’t think they are good with their twin tower thing. If people were saying they were better without KAT it’s because it’s mostly been KAT who was out. In the end, they should’ve never traded for Gobert
