If you have a great defender and a great offensive creating SG, you get Kobe Bryant. If you get a guy who is a good defender, shoots for a good percentage and on occasion gives you a good offensive outburst, then you have a legit guard.

We keep wanting our whole starting 5 to be at an all star level. Not realistic expectations.
Sorry, but Ben's defense was just ok, not terrible but he's not a lock down defender.....and I'd like for him to knock down open shots....that's hardly asking for an all-star.

All players miss open shots. If you're not taking open 3s, you're doing it wrong. It's about average. He's doing fine there.

In all reality, if we get a legit starting SG, Ben becomes dispensable.
I don't mind keeping Ben and giving him more chance for development IF he s not the starting SG. I've been done with his starting for quite a while. Unfortunately we haven't had anyone better to take his place. A nice young man bu not one who has helped this team.

Why don't we run cuts or alley-oops for Ben? Or let him loose in fast breaks? I think letting him get highlight dunks could help his confidence. Ben's an emotional guy, but he's in holed up in a shell because of other areas he needs work on. Maybe letting him have these moments will bring out the Ben we all hoped would have developed into by now.

Maybe cuz half the time he dribbles it off his foot or gets an offensive foul for being out of control. I'm fine with him leaking out for a fast break dunk or alley-pop but if there's a defender in front of him, please pull back and wait for the team.

Points scored, would have went farther back but Ben was hurt, but post all star break.

Remember a lot of concern for not taking a look at some defensive guys because they weren't a good enough scorer.
