Pistons want Bonzi?

Seems like a lot of people are using Hoopshype for their salary info.

Prince already signed an extention...so he's not a FA. And Ben isn't a RFA.

Hoopshype is pretty behind on all their stuff.
If you use a source you may as well learn how to use it correctly before calling it obsolete or even false: "$0" means that guy is not under contract this year, blank line means they don't have info about the salary.
Personally I trust most to Patricia Bender's site:
contracts
this year's salary
P.S. Where on hoopshype site they claim that Ben Wallace is a RFA?
Your nickname resembles URL very much. If you run ezekielbearsports.com you can change the colour of Hart's salary as he already picked his option. And Artest's player option is for 08/09, not for 07/08.

You think there's any chance Detroit wants to do a S&T with us and who'd it be for?

The chance is there, sure.

But, unless their back is pushed against the wall, I don't see it.

I've heard some stuff about Brad and Bonzi for Wallace and something...that just doesn't seem like it would help the Pistons. They are obviously going to be in need of a C, but, there are some okay bangers out in FA land this year if they were forced to lose Ben Wallace.

I just don't really understand much of the desire for them to have Bonzi. When given time, Mo Evans has been very nice there, and has similar tools to Bonzi at a lot cheaper price.

I don't see much taking place unless they're forced into a tough spot.

Yep, Patricia runs a good site...too much Mavs stuff. :giggle:

We exchange a lot of salary stuff together.

I thought I saw somebody in the thread post that Ben was a RFA...I didn't say Hoopshype had it.

And, sorry, haven't had time to update that yet...as, well, it's wishful thinking hoping if I don't do that, maybe Hart wont be back...lol

He didn't show up vs the heat because he was playing on a badly sprained ankle...

I think they would probably like to move the Wallaces. Rasheed has a big contract, and Ben will be getting one soon. Both are, I believe, 32 years old. Also, Chauncey is due for an extension next year. I imagine that if they are truly interested in Bonzi it would be to run a modified version of what the Suns do. Slide Prince down to the 4 spot, and move Bonzi to the 3. They would probably prefer to keep Rasheed over Ben because he is more versatile and can spread the floor.

If Miller is immovable, Ben Wallace would make a whole lot of sense. We don't need more guys who want the ball in their hands, and we have the ideal sub for Wallace in SAR. It would be very simple to exchange defense for offense, or even to sub Miller's shooting for SAR's post play. Wallace's contract would probably become dead weight after the 4 year mark, but that would provide us a very frisky team for the next 4 years. One of those calculated gambles the Maloofs seem to enjoy taking.
Detroit is not trading Ben Wallace to the Kings for one, two, or three Brad Miller's...end of story.

"Beyond that, (Joe) Dumars said he just wants to add some firepower from the bench. How about Bonzi Wells, Grant Hill and Jalen Rose? Dumars can't speak about Hill and Rose because they are under contract with their respective teams. Wells, originally drafted by the Pistons, is a free agent."

"Moles say (Bonzi) Wells is the most likely to sign. Wells appeared ticketed for Auburn Hills last offseason. Many expected Memphis would buy him out of the last year of his contract. Instead, he was traded to Sacramento."

Ticketed? He turned down Pistons.

I don't think that guy knows what he's talking about. Jalen Rose and Grant Hill are not getting their contracts bought out...way too much money. The only way they are getting moved is for someone to trade for their expiring contracts. I would hardly say Bonzi is likely to sign with Detroit...we can always offer more money.

If Bonzi is going to take less money or/and a lesser role, he'd probably end up in Indy with his buddy Jermaine.

Now if Indy was interested I'd take Harrison and Jones off their hands. If Detroit is serious, I’d gladly take McDyess. I hope Geoff is thinking along those lines also.

We have no leverage if he is actually goignt o sign somewhere for the MLE. No sign and trade. He just walks.

And by the way -- McDyess? 32 yr old with legendarily bad knees? Wouldn't solve anything for us.

McDyess is too much of a risk, good bench player, but his knees are a problem. I doubt Detroit gets rid of him, he IS their bench besides Tony Delk...
