Philly fans are pathetic

Just finished watching Game 4, and I just had to comment on the Sixers fans. Two things that really pissed me off...

1) C-Webb carried that team in the 3rd quarter, scored something like 12 points, and couldn't miss. Then, in two of the final possessions of the quarter, he misses a three and a jumper, and the boo's started coming out. He's been getting boo'd since he got there, and even when he's having a great game, they boo him. If they wanna boo someone, blame that Ashton Kutcher look-a-like who aired two threes in the last 10 seconds of overtime.

2) Tayshaun goes down with an ankle twist, and the crowd got up and gave a standing ovation. They were absolutely exuberant that their opponent got hurt. Just shows no class on the part of Sixers fans if they have to count on an injury to do well. I was glad Tayshaun was OK and able to continue.

Sad for Chris to leave the best fans in the NBA and have to put up with this crap on a nightly basis.

I felt sorry for Webber today too ... When he was mumbling something towards the very end, you could see it in his eyes that he doesn't want another one of those tough playoff losses, but he knows he's gonna get it... Sad.

Webber played very well today, he made his shots, he passed the ball well......but he took an ill advised 3 pointer when Philly needed a 2. However, he didn't deserve to get booed.....Ash...oops Korver did. Why did he take that wild 3, when there still were 4 sec. on the clock. Philly should've taken a TO and drawn up a play. I don't like O'brian's coaching and his decision making....I thought he should've taken time out on several occasions.

For the most part, the Philly fans were pretty supportive of Webber and appreciative of his efforts. I thought the commentators were pretty fair in their assessment of him, his strengths and weaknesses and what he can still bring to the game.

This is Philly, remember? They boo Santa.

Yeah, I thought that the fans were behind him and that he received ovation when he enter the games. I didn't hear the boos, except maybe right after that offensive foul he commited; but I thought those were booing the refs...

Cant believe their couldnt even sell out game 4 after a game 3 win that was also a non-sellout. Im rooting for them and like their team but their fans are all bandwagoners.

Whats really sick is how they cheered Tayshaun's ankle twist...first off thats just plain disgusting...I wouldn't wish injury on my any guy in the NBA including the players I hate and of ALL people in the NBA to cheer their injury they choose Tayshaun Prince who is arguably one of the nicest guys in the NBA a guy you can't hate...

After all that you have la fans /scarcasim/

I don't know about L.A. "fans", that would imply that they live and die with their teams successes and failures, which is hard to do when you arrive late and leave early.

How about L.A. "audience members"?

Don't you remember the Kings fans cheering when Horry went down and booing when he got up?? I do.

^^Seriously don't remember it...probably didn't see it...but I can assure you that wouldn't be me and I can still say that its still disgusting regardless of whether or not who it is that said it...I'm not gonna change my view just cuz now its Kings fans who cheer'd somebodies injury...its still disgusting...and I wouldnn't wish injury on Horry besides the fact that I have absolutely NO BEEF with Robert Horry I've always liked him since the time he threw that towel in Danny Ainge's face in their Phoenix days...

I was one of them. Pathetic soccer faker. And that was why he got booed. What? You expect us to cheer a punk for trying to cheat and draw a foul on our team by pretending to be hurt and then miraculously making a full recovery once it didn't work?

We've seen more drama and winning than many other teams. That tends to make us not-easily-surprised and spoiled.

Haha..that should make anybody like him..if just for that. :D

I became a fan when he was a Rocket and I saw him on a holiday NBC game at Phx. Every one of his baskets was a dunk since the Barkley Suns were such a donut hole in the paint. He kept yelling during each one. I was cracking up at the crowd's disgust at his antics.

Who really cares what Philly fans do anymore. If they can't even sell out a play off game because they thought they had no shot of winning??? That's just ridiculous. You should go to support your team no matter what or just to see a great bball game Nothing they do anymore would surprise me. props to C-Webb for having a good game and not beating the sh** out of those so called fans. To go from Arco to Wachovia, what a culture shock!!! If we'd been down 3-0 and blown out by 30 points every game, I bet Arco would still be full.

By the way, why is Webber now playing behind the 3 point line and jacking up 3 point shots??? He's shooting like 5 a game in this series.

actually he's shot a total of 10, and he's made 5 of them. I think he is playing well, and he's taking 3's when he has a good chance of making them, then go for it.

I was surprised not to hear a single boo when he tried that behind the back pass for a turnover, which was followed by a turnover when he tried to bring the ball up the floor.

This is also the same city that booed their own beloved Mike Schimdt and cheered and heckled Michael Irvin as he laid motionless on the field at the Vet, possibly being paralyzed.
