Remember, Manning and Smith have the same agent. I think he most likely sent Smith to Miami to strengthen his bargaining power with SF, since he - the aforementioned agent - had to know that Manning was most interested in Denver and not SF, especially after Elway made it clear he was ready to hand the keys to his kingdom to Peyton. Nice bit of agenting, if you think about it, and nice percentage on the two deals. Not a bad week's work.

Considering all the rumors that Peyton would not seriously consider an NFC club so as not to get in the way of his little brother (who seems to be doing just fine) that would make some sense.

Haha I really hope LT goes to another team. I hate having to somewhat root for him on a team full of players I don't like.
