Pelicans hire Gentry

Haha.

All those candidates and that's what they got. The guy with the .475 winning %, 3 playoff appearances and 1 50 win season in parts of 12 seasons as a head coach. So dumb.

Should be able to run n chuck A.D. into some pretty and empty numbers however.

Wow...didn't see this coming. I guess they didn't want Thibs to wear down the Brow. Time to run and gun in Nawlins.

Either I have become senile (possible) and clueless about coaching in the NBA OR there is a rash of stupid going around NBA GMs. Of course I guess they could both be true at the same time.o_O

There's probably a reason he wore out his welcome in Chicago. That aside, I thought he coached an elite defense and was a little worried with what he might do with that roster. I'm not as worried about Gentry.

Offense wasn't that much of a problem for Pelicans, defense was.
Gentry needs very strong defensive coordinator. Would be great, if he stole Adams from GS as well.

Fred Hoiberg to the Bulls...as expected. Now you have two college coaches heading to the pros...I'm curious to see what they both do for their respective teams and if they both succeed, that can start a trend of bringing more and more college coaches over. I see Kevin Ollie coaching an NBA team in the near future.
