Peja's first game?

Anyone know why did Peja not play in tonight's Pacers' game vs. the Cavs?

^^ since yesterday, carlisle has been saying he won't play. i think the pacers didn't want to put him out there without some sort of practice. they want him to kind of get the feel of their plays and how they do things, i guess.

he's going to practice with the pacers, and lucky for him their next game is on tuesday so he'll have enough time to prepare. i'm pretty sure his 1st game will be on tuesday against the wizards (?).

just seems odd for some reason...Wally played for the Celtics on Friday, Davis played for Twolves, and they were traded one day after the Peja/Artest swap went down. Is the Indy offense so complex?

Well it is very...precise. And I don't think Carlisle really cares for anybody screwing it up. They've also had a long time here to play without Ron, so its not as if they felt the hole in the lineup the way the other teams might have.

Might also have something to do with number of times Pedja had flights from coast to coast in a very short amount of time. They probably decided to give him a bit of rest to get over the "jetleg" and fit in a couple of practices before he plays his first game.

Now that JO is out for extended period of time, I think Pacers will base a lot of their offence around Pedja. He REALLY needs to step up for them because they will love or die by his form until JO returns.

JO being injured was one of the other reasons I thought it odd that Peja did not play. Regardless, I'll be looking forward to his debut...
