Pacers and Kings Trade Idea

All-Star
I would like to start off by saying that I like how our team is shaping up. I think we can be a very competitive team. I'm not sure I would do this trade I am about to propose without seeing how our team performs first, but one of the things I love most is to propose trades. With that said, this is what I came up with:

Pacers Get:
Marcus Thornton
Thomas Robinson

Kings Get:
Paul George
David West

Why Pacers Do It:
I'm still a little unsure the Pacers would do this trade. They value George a lot, and rightfully so. They might be more willing to give up Granger for Thornton and Robinson more so than George and West for Thornton and Robinson. I will do my best to argue their case. The Pacers have many good, young players, but other than Granger, they don't really have a go-to scorer. Thornton can be that player. With Thornton and Granger on the team, they would have two legitimate 20 ppg players. They also get Robinson who would fit very nicely next to Hibbert. Robinson brings rebounding, athleticism, and a nice jumper to Hibbert's size, rebounding, defense, and shotblocking. They lose West, but he is an unrestricted free agent after the season, and there is no guarantee they are bringing him back. Robinson gives them a very talented and young player who can fill their PF position on a rookie contract.

Why Kings Do It:
I'm very happy with the acquisition of J. Johnson. He gives us a legitimate SF to plug into our starting lineup. However, in an ideal world, we would like our SF to be someone who plays good defense and can spread the floor. George is more than capable of doing both. By having Thomas and George out there to spread the floor, it will only mean more success for Evans and Cousins. In addition, Evans will be able to be a full-time SG (finally!) with the loss of Thornton. Rarely do you see a successful team have a sixth man who plays the same position as one of their star players. I think with Thornton gone, Evans would flourish. We get West who's contract expires after the season which will give us more cap room to work with.

After the trade:

Thomas/Brooks/Fredette
Evans/Garcia/Salmons
George/Johnson/Outlaw/Honeycutt
West/Thompson/Hayes
Cousins/

When the offseason hits, we let West and Garcia walk and amnesty Salmons. If we extend Evans to around 12 mil a year, our total payroll will be around 46 mil which gives us around 12 mil to work with in free agency. Some of the notable big men free agents that we could use are J. Smith, Jefferson, Dalembert, Brand, and Kaman. If we can't make a deal with Smith (which I'm not counting on), I suggest we try to bring Dalembert back. I'm sure we could get him for around 5-7 mil a year. He would bring back that athletic shotblocking presence we have been searching for.

Next year we could go into the season with a lineup like this:

Thomas (24 min)/Brooks (24 min)/Fredette (0 min)
Evans (37 min)/George (11 min)/(Rookie or FA signing) (0 min)
George (24 min)/Johnson (24 min)/Outlaw (0 min)/Honeycutt (0 min)
Dalembert (15 min)/Thompson (28 min)/Hayes (5 min)
Cousins (35 min)/Dalembert (13 min)

8 man rotation: Thomas, Brooks, Evans, George, Johnson, Dalembert, Thompson, Cousins

I know I'm probably thinking too far ahead, but I'm just a very future oriented person.

I'd do that in a second, but the Pacers wouldn't do that move. Thornton is pretty much a shorter version of Granger, who they'd probably move before George anyway.

I would move anything not Cuz/Reke for George, and any Thronton+ filler combo for Granger.

Yeah I'm not sure they would do it either. I mentioned that the Pacers might be willing to do Granger for Thornton and Robinson more than the trade I mentioned. That fits your "any Thornton+ filler combo for Granger" comment.
