Pac-10 Women's Playoffs

Stanford is playing USC on CHannel 36, FSN, in the second round of playoffs. It's just starting now - 5:30 pm

I didn't watch the end because Stanford was kicking...you know what. Thanks for the heads up, Carole.

I went down to San Jose on Saturday for those games and I have to say it was not pretty basketball. The last game of the day between USC and Washington was by far the best and that wasn't saying a whole lot because the first half of that game was ugly.

Only one half of yesterday's semi-final double header was competitive the game between UCLA and Arizona St.. As far as the PAC-10 advanced last year with their performance in the NCAA tournament this really looked to be a weird looking conference when these teams play each other.

The championship game tonight should be interesting (although Stanford doesn't have to contend with anybody in the post on either end of the floor) because UCLA probably will be extra motivated to win because I don't see how they get a NCAA berth without an automatic bid. They might get in because some other tourney regular schools had down years as well.

Aaaurgh, I was watching and then a realtor came over and I didn't see the end - how did it come out?

Now THAT was the most entertaining game of this tournament. I was rooting for the Bruins as well just for the sake of conference competition. I agreed with Mary Murphy commentating last night - Willis, Blue and Quinn were outstanding as the big 3 for that team - but the MVP(s) were UCLA's bigs esp. Plummer who came up huge against the post players Stanford has. Quinn's performance was epic - she had nothing left but still came out at the end of regulation and in the OT to go some more and hit some money shots.

Willis had a heckuva weekend.

What happened to my girl Wiggins? She wasn't able to take over on her own!
I remember Kara L. talking about UCLA's uptempo game & that they had some real shooters. Guess she was right. I myself was cheering for Stanford...sticking with Nor-Cal & all. That would have been a nice game see.

Both teams looked tired, Wiggins definitely was not herself as that game ended. Noelle Quinn finishes that game one-legged, comes off the bench hits the game tying shot? That was just a hard fought wonderful game.
