On a good note!

I just want to say that last night in the 4th quarter I actually became excited. Yes, my feelings of anger quickly turned to happiness when our "Kids" came in played with the enthusiasm, defense and energy we have all been begging for this year.

Francisco played his usual energy game. Even though he will do things that will make any coach pull his hair out you have to admire the 9 rebounds in 25 minutes from the SG/SF position.

Salmons is mister consistant. You know what he is going to bring you every game. Although his outside shot is inconsistant at times he is getting better.

It was nice to see Douby. He likes to shot! But when he does make shots they are harder than normal shots. Whether it be a long 3 or a floater you can definately see the potential. And yes he is all energy on defense.

Justin Williams has got be my favorite player. In 15 minutes he managed 7 pts, 5 reb(2 off), a stl and a blk. He tries to grab every rebound and block every shot. To bad we don't need this type of player getting minutes;) . However his free throw shooting is....well Dudly like. But I keep wanting to compare him to Ben Wallace but I know deep down he has a few years to go until he makes it to that level.

Finally Ronnie Price. What is there not to like about this guy. He is the total package and though he is small he more than makes up for it with his hustle and athletisism. His SWOORMING defense is so much fun to watch.

I am all in favor for playing all these guys major minutes and and benching the starters. Who's coming with me. I shouldn't say that but personally the youngs have been far more entertaining to watch that the regulars.

IMO

Then again, they were playing against the bench of the Atlanta Hawks... I think my grandmother could get rebounds against them.

The Kings starters were too. They couldn't:D

Oh wait that was Atlanta's Starters without there best player and ZaZa O'Neal.

but anyways my point is this team is funner to watch then the starters.

Nice take. I agree with the idea of letting the youngsters have much more time. I think they earned it...

i didnt want the younger guys to get minutes when i thought we had playoff chances. now i think they should play more minutes to get them ready for next season

on ur signature add g oden on center and well be raw

You're missing the point, I believe. We most likely won't get Greg Oden, so why continue the fantasy? There is an ever-increasing chance, however, that we might actually get a decent frontcourt player so I think that's why Camino has left the slot blank for the time being.

Raw means not done; unfinished; etc. I know it's all the rage to use words as the opposite of their meaning, but I think it's pretty clear we don't want to be RAW.

;)

Mind you with our upcoming schedule if everything goes just "right" I could actually see us winning about 32-33, amyeb sliding in as a #7 seed or something, and still having a fracional shot at a Top 3 pick. Think Milwaulkee was #7 when they got he top pick a few years back.

There's still an "opportunity" to improve our position...in the lottery. We're not 14th seeds yet.

Well, that's certainly true. If we keep playing like we have on this road trip, who knows how many ping pong balls we can accumulate.

And I wasn't all that excited about the performances of our "kids".

Douby was 2 of 7 and Garcia was 0 of 7? In garbage time?!? Yikes.

Actually, that team would be quite raw. :D

I'll agree with everything but the Salmons idea. I mean sometimes he seems like the ultimate utility player. He can shoot the three, defend very well, finish at the hoop, rebound, and play PG. Other times (and sadly most of the time) He is almost non-existent. You almost forget he's on the floor or on the team for that matter...

I like seeing the new kids too, but wish I was seeing the starters play well. A couple of comments: Re Garcia--he seems so hyper that he can't settle to make shots. He shoots almost perfectly in pre game warmups. Must be nerves and he makes the dumbest fouls ever. He can make free throws though and that's a switch from his teammates. It seems like the norm for Corliss, Salmons, Bibby, etc. to just make one free throw. Ugh!

And I am forever yelling at Corliss and SAR to "pass the ball" when they are down low, shorter than the 3 or 4 defenders around them and insist on shooting or dribbling. They lose the ball so many times and I wonder if they have ever had an "assist" during a game.

This season is just painful but for all the right reasons we love the Kings and are going to renew our season tickets.

Question: how do the posters know the inside relationship with the Maloofs and Petrie? I have never known Petrie to share any information like that. Aside from Musselman's hiring, where the Maloofs were so hyped, where does that kind of information come from? Annie

Where is this team now?

I look at this team and see nothing but turmoil. The coach and the players don't even like to look at each other, so they need a coach, or 12 players who can stand to even look at Musselman (in which case, they don't need a new coach; 12 all-new players will suffice).

Next, I think Bibby's leaving, for sure. So they need a starting PG.

Next, Miller is clearly down to "bench veteran." They need a starting C.

Next, when I'm feeling especially cruel, I say to myself, "I hope Artest gets off to a good start, because if he does, no one else will get to see the ball again." Ron had compared himself to Kobe, Dirk, Nash, Howard, Arenas, and so forth. He has completely convinced himself that he's one of the top 10, or even top 5, players in the league. So when he gets rolling at around minute 27, I look for the Kings to lose any lead they may have, or fall even farther behind, because it's gonna be Ron against the World from there on out, and right now, World has an insurmountable lead.

I like Martin quite a bit, but to me, he's the kind of player you pine for if you already have a 1 and a 4 or 5. The Kings are NOT set at 1, 4 or 5. Well, Bibby IS a top-10 PG in the NBA, but face it, he's leaving.

Frankly, I think Kings fans radically overrate Douby and Garcia. That's a symptom of excessive Petrie worship.

So what else is left?

This team does not need minor tinkering to get back to 2002 form. But I've resigned myself to thinking they may end up with the kind of season the Celtics and Grizzlies are having first, which means no one, and I mean no one, on their current staff (players and front office) will be in Sac for the Kings next Western Conference Finals appearance. And I mean that.

It's not that I don't like SOME of what's here, but for the most part, every piece falls into the, "Well, what can we get for him?" category. No exceptions, not even Martin; I reiterate, it's pointless to have Martin if you're not set at 1 and 4 or 5.

Last night, when I saw the replay of how MAD Musselman looked at his players during that timeout (I don't even know when it was), that's when my last shred of skepticism was swept away; Musselman really, really hates these players, and many of them hate him right back. They DO NOT like each other. And you don't have to be best friends to win 55. It's just that when the 12 truly despise the 1, and the 1 the 12, and many, many of the 12 will not be back (and should not be back), that's when you realize, wow, things are almost certain to get way worse.

This is just like Art Shell coaching the Raiders, folks.

People like me get bombed for being so negative, but just watch how much of what I say happens, then give me some credit.

This team, as of today, is looking for EVERYTHING. GM, Coach, PG, C, bench, whatever.

I'd love to see this tide sweep up Napear, too.

I do love seeing Justin Williams play. Finally, a big Kings player with athleticism and using it to crash the boards!

Still so, so raw though. I was laughing so hard last night when he tried to post up and ended up dribbling the ball and lost it between his legs.

I don't put any high standards on the "Kids" or "overrate" them at this point and time but they have shown me they can bring something to the table. And they always bring the energy and hustle every minute they step on the floor. That is far more than what the starters show me up to this point.

Another thing is even though there are alot of turnovers with the "Kids" they are always looking to pass and move the ball.

It's how you present your opinion that draws flak, ArenaSkeptic. You're no better or worse than any other fan posting here so the constant "Hey, look at me and LISTEN to what I'm telling you" gets a bit tiresome.

You might well be right; but is that what a message board is all about? One person being right and everyone else giving him credit? I don't know about other boards but it's certainly not what this board has ever been about.

People like me get bombed for being so negative, but just watch how much of what I say happens, then give me some credit.

I think you enjoy being negative. And I'm not going to give you credit for it. Why? Because a LOT of our members have said pretty much the same things you've said but without the attitude.
