Old School King Question circa 9697: Abdul-Rauf

Anyone remember when they used to interview the Kings player of the game at center court (at Arco) after each Kings home win? I remember the first Kings game I ever went to...the player of the game was TRAVIS MAYS. The Kings had just beat the Miami Heat (the days of Ronny Seikaly).

Yeah I remember that. Also if the Kings scored 110 points I think, you could get a free western bacon hamburger from Carl's Jr. with the ticket stub?

yeah, I remember my first game, 1985, we blew a 25 pt. halftime lead and lost to the Trailblazers, they interviewed Terry Porter at center court. Oh yeah, and remember in the first few years they would hold 'The Kings Court' and bring a celebrity of some sort in to go to center court with a gavel and say 'The Kings court is now in session!'. :D Those were the days. One of the first games I went to at the old Arco, baseball legend Orlando Cepeda was the one who did that, and I was sitting right behind him and went down and got his autograph, THAT was a thrill.

There was a time when, if the Kings won on Tuesday night (I think it was Tuesday), you could get a free Arby burger on Wednesday by mentioning the game.

The fact Arby's didn't go bankrupt says a lot about how many times they had to pay out...

;)

:DYES! I totally remember that! They had NOTHING to worry about back then, as far as going bankrupt on the Kings behalf. Remember in 1985 when we had the Tuesday night winning streak at Arco(old one) of like 13 straight Tuesday games that we won?
