Simmons isn't a PF. Villanueva basically gives them one power forward on their roster, and they could use another one. They would get an upgrade at backup PF with KT for Joe Smith. People on the Bucks board seem to think it's a good idea.

I don't think they would do it either. They should just let Joe Smith's contract play out and then get a new PF next year.

But letting Smith expire isn't going to get them under the cap, they'd be limited to the MLE, which they could use anyway. And since Smith isn't exactly going to be much of a commodity on the sign & trade market, they would just be losing him for nothing.

PS: I'm assuming they trade Magloire for someone this offseason. If they let EVERYONE expire then they will be under the cap next year.

i mentioned simmons because the starting line up at the 3-4-5 is solid. my thinking on it is hes already unhappy with the idea of coming off the bench here, is that going to change when he joins the bucks?

I mentioned a KT for Mutombo and Sura swap on a Rockets board and it seems like they like that deal. That would give us a backup C for a year, even if he is nearly 60 he can still play a little D. Sura has 2 yrs. and about 6 million left on his contract. If Bonzi leaves he could provide a little bit of veteran leadership and can play 3 positions. I don't think he would provide any problems if he didn't play much either. I'd be happy with either this trade or the Bucks trade you mentioned nbrans.

Doesn't really matter though, he wouldn't play much anyways.

Not sure... Probably would have to throw in Garcia while we get someone like Kirk Snyder (who I like) or JR Smith back.
