Its starting to get ugly , House - 9 mins. of basicly nothing , House wont be here long enough for us to give him all these mins , i say we use them on a guy that will be , Special K.

I think Mo and Kev proved that the bench is deeper than most thought, even Adelman. So, why is he not getting the time that Adelman himself said he [Kev] proved he deserved? It's not like he doesn't know the game. He still practices more than anyone else, without complaining. I love Brad and I know he pulled through in the end, but, if he's not checked it will only get worse and who knows how badly it will effect our Kings. Besides, it just look professional!

No easy answers Grannie. We like Kevin and we know RA does, too. But Adelman has always been one NOT to utilize the talent on his bench as much as we would like. I wouldn't worry yet. I've seen RA use more flexibility this year than I think I've ever seen him use. I would expect to see more variety in the coming games. With the upcoming schedule, we're gonna need everybody's contributions.

Like I said in the other thread before, there should be 5 quarters so all the players can play, no more BENCH GARBAGE type players, all NBA players must play every game! Period! Not only KevMartin but also Barnes.. Where are you Barnes? :) hehe

I think this is really a situation of finding out what House can do and whether he is the guy to back up Bibby for the rest of the regular season. After all, the Kings have a limited amount of time to evaluate House since I believe he is on an 10 day contract.

Kevin Martin isn't going anywhere, but Eddie House may only be a King for a little longer. If House can turn it around, he could be signed for the rest of the season. If not, I think this thread will be moot as we will likely see a new argument crop up:

Cuttino is a natural off guard, but he can play some point (and often did so with Tyson Wheeler on the bench) so I wouldn't be surprised when (if House is let go) the Kings go to a three guard rotation of Bibby, Mobley and Evans or Martin.

Personally I think Evans can spell Peja even though he is undersized, but Adelman seems to play Mo exclusively at the two. I'd love to see Mobley, Martin (who has the quickness to guard PGs, if not the ability to play the point himself) and Bibby share guard time with Mo getting minutes at SF. But I think it is more likely that Evans and Kev will fight it out to be the Kings version of Vinnie Johnson.

One last note. Tyson Wheeler is a name I haven't thought of for a while. Does anyone know where he is? I always wonder how good URI could have been if Odom hadn't had to sit out a season and got to play with Wheeler and Mobley. Wow.

Exactly if you have a 10 day conract you have to know what you have and if you wnat another 10 days etc. Give House a break folks he may be taking a few min from Kevin right now but it has not cost us a game and knowing his value + or - makes it worth a look see.

And like I said in the other thread before, if we institute a rule where every HAS to play every game we might as well quit keeping score too so the sensitive little darlings don't get their feelings hurt if they "lose."

The game is 4 quarters. The coach decides which players to put on the court to end up having the most points at the end of those 4 quarters. We may not agree with his decisions but the object of the game is to win and the coach is being paid a lot of money to use his judgment in deciding how best to accomplish that goal.

I would love to see Kevin get more time. I know his family and friends, who know what he's capable of, are going crazy because they want to see him out there. I have faith that he'll get his minutes, since he's shown that he can do what he's needed to do.

But to say that we need to change the game so each player gets a turn is just ridiculous IMHO. It's not 4th grade recess. It's the NBA.

I should have put my last post here. Anyways, I agree. It seems Petrie is sort of going towards a youth movement, and if he IS TRULY doing that then he needs to reverse the trend of Adleman's Doghouse For The Young And Promising. I hope to see some Mobley & Martin backcourt expirements.

Plus, and a major plus, our rebounding with Martin and Evans on the court at the same time seems to always improve.

Actually Mo is getting most of the backup SF minutes right now behind Peja, and he's doing ok there. He is too small, but he's got strength and leaping ability which let him compete. And except for Barnes, he is it at that position. We don't swing Darius down, and Mobley is much smaller than Doug and can't really swing up.

And that's really what opens up the possibility of minutes for Martin -- when Mo is at SF off the bench, somebody has to be playing OG. So far that's been Cat with either House or Bibby at the point. But move Cat over to the 1 and the OG position in that lineup is open.
