OK, I understand the fact that the team is trying to integrate House into the mix, I understand the fact that he is listed as a Point guard, a position we are lacing depth at now. However, I am not at all impressed with his point guard 'skills'. Some of it is unfamiliarity with the team, I am sure. Personally, I would prefer he become MORE familiar with the team in, oh, say, practice. Now Kevin is not a point guard, but he can bring the ball across mid court and dump it into the post just fine. Once that task is done, I am far more impressed with what Kevin has to offer. I prefer to see this young man get time on the court.
I may have to break out the Mar Tin chant at home games like we used to do with Wallace.

House looks pretty quick defensively. That being said Martin needs to get in the mix, espeiclally after what he has shown the last little while.

Martin has looked very sharp defensively himself, and he has far more potential to improve on both ends of the floor with more time.

Ok please play Kevin !!! anyone other than House !
House deserves a shot...And he played pretty good last game.

But, yeah, maybe Martin can take House's spot in the rotation but I would be concerned about a lack of a PG, especially with K's turnover problems.

Most of Kevin's turnovers came early on, when he was only playing limited minutes in garbage time, which kind of skewed his stats, especially the per 48 minute ones. He is averaging less than one per game now. When he gets time, and I mean real time, with the real rotation, he is very effective

Ya gotta play em to know what ya got. Adelman has played Martin and knows what h coan do, let him test out House while the team is playing middeling teams. I have no question that Kevin will get plenty of time down the streach.

I wasn't that happy when we got House. As I recall I made some snide comment about one man's trash being... another man's trash. But I don't want to sound as though I'm not hoping he's able to contribute to the team.

I'll admit that, time with the team not withstanding, what I've seen of House so far doesn't impress me that much. I certainly hope Kevin continues to get minutes. He's worth the invest of time - both for now and the future.

Having said that, I'm sure RA will not hesitate to go to Kevin if House doesn't pan out. It's already pretty clear that he and the rest of the coaching staff like Special K.

:D

I am behind you fully Kingsgurl. Special K is a true King. I have this habit every year of looking at ppl and judging them on if they are a true King. House isn't it. Keon Clark wasn't neither was Peeler. Special K is and will be for quite sometime i believe.

We're all too aware of RA's past tendencies to overlook rookies. I don't think it will happen this time. Kevin has already shown himself to be very willing and eager to learn, to develop, to improve. I honestly think House will get enough time to show whether he's going to get minutes down the road or not. And I think Kevin will get enough minutes to keep developing.

:D

That's an intersting question. Gerald was such an athletic freak, still is, of course, but he really never had the Petrie characteristics, the traits he looks for in players.

I understand and agree. There's an excitement about Kevin because we're seeing him at the beginning of his NBA career. And, from what we've seen, it already looks as though his NBA career could be a lot of fun for us AND for him!

:D

I think Kevin Martin is too big and inexperienced to play floor general. He shows LOADS of potential but c'mon, could you see Martin matched up with ohh let's see......Marbury, Francis, Nash, Parker, Arenas,Billups, Iverson,Wade etc.etc. Even though it hurts watching House play (immensely) he's better suited to the position and Adelman is a MATCH UP MAN, so much in fact I find myself yelling at the tube to sub in O-Tag.

We're talking about 8-10 minutes in a backup position. Martin HAS played the point and done okay. He wouldn't be going up against the top PGs in the league, any more than Darius is going to be logging lots of minutes playing against Tim Duncan.

I have the articles in my scrapbook where Kevin went head to head with Nash last summer while in Canada on tour with Western Carolina. He out played and out scored Nash in both games. They had their pictures taken together afterwards. sorry, I don't have a copy. I keep reminding you guys....Kevin plays to the level of the competition.
I am completely biased but I think he hold his own!!

Excuse me? Too big? DC is 6'6". Big is NOT a disadvantage when you are as quick as Kevin is. I shudder to think of House matched up on any of those players you mention FAR more than Kevin. Yes, he IS in-experienced, that's my point. He needs to gain the experience, and I am NOT advocating him as a PG, per se. I am saying, in our offense, he can take the minutes vacated when Bibby needs a rest. I will need you to supply me with some examples, in OUR sustem, of why House would be more suitable, because I simply don't see it. House is not a PG either, he is a shooting guard trapped in a PG body.

Gee, if you had a really cool digital camera, you could take a picture of the article and send it to your friend;)

its okay grannie, i believe you.... eventhough outscoring nash isnt much of an accomplishment... lol, he plays less defense than bibby... but we all want kevin to play more... i still think that he should be peja back up... how many sf's are there that are that buch bigger than kevin that he couldnt handle for 8-10 minutes.... hassell? butler? bowen? qrich/johnson?

rest peja play martin.....

Martin has so much potential and such a great willingness to learn... the only thing I see hampering his growth with the team is by him not getting enough time on the court. As far as I'm concerned, preparation & growth is still the name of the game at this point in the season... and I'd like to see that apply to him. I like to think we'll get great ROI in short order.

rest peja and play martin..... thats my new answer to everything, since we got another shooter.... i'm sure that he can handle hassell and bowen for 8-10 minutes....

Kevin does not have PG skills at this point, although I think he can defend the position depending on matchups. He should not be playing there at all except in emergencies. But, and this is the significant BUT, Cat Mobley CAN play a little PG. So the key to finding Kevin minutes may not be playing him out of position and hurting our offense just to say we had him on the floor, but in having Mobley do what Doug was doing and swing over to play a little backup PG. That relegates House back to the bench, and perhaps frees up some additional OG minutes.

You figure that Bibby and Mobley are going to play about 70min a night, and Peja another 40. So there are about 13+13+8 backup minutes at those three positions to be had. 34 min or so. Bit too many for Mo Evans to handle by himself on a nightly basis. Should be 10-15 free minutes there for someone. Just a question of shifting the rotations around to make sure it is the right someone.

P.S. BTW, House is no worldbeater, but he's a better player than he's shown with us so far.
