Official Kings quote-worthy quote thread

After reading Sam Amick's article in today's Bee, there was just no way I couldn't start a thread like this.

I'm going to make the first nomination for Kings-related quote-worthy quote. I think something like the one I'm nominating needs to be recorded so it isn't lost...

Do you have a favorite Kings-related quote that was posted here? Please, no quotes from other websites. Why not add your selections. Make sure to include a link back to the Kingsfan.com thread where it was posted... If this works out, we may just have a Quotes Hall of Fame.

:D

My selection is:

"It's a lot of noise, mostly white noise, like when a hen oodles -- wow, lays an egg -- and it makes a sound like it made a meteor." - Geoff Petrie

My personal favorite comes from Kevin Harlan's main side announcer, I can't remember his name now.

The Detroid Pistons almost always win when they score 100 and limit their opponents to below 100...

Not Kings related, but it was noteworthy :D

...sigh...

I actually thought it would take at least four or five posts for this to get off-topic.

I was trying to keep it Kings related so it would be more relevant to this forum.

...Oh, well...

(and I think it was Doug Collins who uttered those words of wisdom...)

In a season long long ago....

"Ain't no moves under the radar, buddy. I'll tell you what: If Sacramento will trade Peja Stojakovic for Ron Artest, they could win the West. They need that defensive element. They need that. They don't need the offense. I would do that trade yesterday. That's a great trade for Sacramento. I don't know what they're holding up."

By Who Else? Charles Barkley.

Can we just fire Adelman now instead of waiting until the end of the season???

Here's one from our favorite coach, Phil Jackson; right before the 2001 2nd Round Series against the Lakers:

"Their organization's done a great job of putting together talent," Jackson said "I think they've done a great job of melding their players together, becoming very successful," he said. "I said some real nice things about them yesterday, didn't I?"

:DToo funny!

Mike Bibby after hitting the game winning shot in Game 5 against the Lakers in the 2002 WCF:

"I wanted the shot all the way, and I knew it would go down," Bibby said. I can't say why. I just knew it. It felt right. I think there are a lot of people on the team that can take that last shot. I just happened to hit it. My confidence level is really high right now."

And then I ran out onto K St. with my shirt off and crying tears of joy!

Prior to a Kings/Lakers game (I think...) during an interview:

"Kobe this, Kobe that... whatever!"
-- Kenny Thomas

From our favorite Grant sidekick at an away game:

"That fan under the basket just doesn't understand the game of basketball (hollaring often at non-fouls he thinks should be fouls against the Kings). Or he could just be dummer than a stump"

How you know., How you know Charles?

--Mike Bibby to Charles Barkley after he went on and on about how the Kings haven't won anything

I have one problem when he makes a salad. He throws everything in there, all kinds of different colors. Geez, Geoff. Just put in the onions and the tomatoes and let's eat."

Pete Carill about Geoff Petrie's salads

"It's not Kevin vs. Francisco," Martin said. "It's Kevin and Francisco seeing what we can do to help the team - young guys just running."
Kevin Martin on the similarities of Francisco Garcia and himself

You're in the NBA? What are you, 19?" he asked as Martin stopped.

"No, I'm 22," the King politely rebutted.

"No, you can't be," he said.

"Yes, I am," Martin said. And round they went.
